DEK3

I imagine Nathan wouldn't sell something that isn't perfect, but it doesn't hurt to ask.

I agree, but his Cult of followers would Love blotchy blades with cheap pink lemonade colored g10 scales......as an exclusive. :D

Issue tickets with them, that are worthless shares of the company....kinda like the Green bay Packers do with their "shareholders".
Everyone/fans in Wisconsin buys "shares" that aren't worth anything, but bragging rights.

Pretty sure they would all sell out quickly

We have really been struggling with getting Magnacut into higher volume production.

It is a good alloy, and an interesting alloy, but I'm beginning to think the juice wasn't worth the squeeze.

Our losses for cosmetic reasons on the Magna cut DEK3s means there will be NONE available on Friday sales and we might even be issuing some refunds on the pre-order for the first time in our company history.
We're more than lucky to have anything you produce. Loving my specimen in D3V!

What's more, the initiative to take on the Magnacut optimization even if it was a calculated risk is one of the reasons we ❤️ you as a maker in the first place!

Ghetto grind! Ghetto grind! Ghetto grind!

Sincere thanks for the honest transparency.

shit, man. I'm really sorry to hear that. It was only a couple days ago you seemed to think you had this in the bag- what a disappointment that must be :(
is getting them coated in some form or another an option?
I've seen plenty of companies whose cosmetic defects are on proud display, and are- in fact- part of the charm!

I wouldn't mind buying a blemished blade at all.

I actually just bought a blem kitchen knife in magnacut. Blade has a very slight warp, very very minor. It also has some unusual wave marks in the grind.
Cuts great, holds an edge fine, bottom line is that it works and I knew what I was getting.

Did you have the same problem with the Dek1s in MC? Or just the 3s?

Are you anticipating you'll need to issue refunds because it is drawing near to the timeframe given and people will ask for them or because you'll actively give them as you wont be able to produce enough 3s even with more time?

Nathan, you mind sharing some pics of what cosmetic issues your having? Are they ghost spots like this?

Maybe the blemed magna cut blanks could be ground with a simple full flat grind, or full hollow.
No swedge to keep your costs down. And to distinguish them from normal production.....
Any style scales, as long as you want black.
Recoup e some losses.

I'd buy one.
