and $30.00 shipping
Relatively common stunt pulled by dishonest (IMO) eBay sellers these days: List something with a very attractive "buy it now" price and hope the buyer won't notice the exorbitant "shipping and handling" fee. Once the buyer has "bought" the thing and finds out they didn't get quite the deal they thought they had, they're faced with a dilemma: Take the shafting (which was their own fault, really) or renege on the deal. Renegging will likely get you negative feedback, and some sellers won't sell to people with any negative feedback. So you're hosed either way.and $30.00 shipping

There are items that I've not bought/bid-on because the S&H was highway robbery, even when the deal was still attractive with the S&H. I tend to shun shysters.
humpf! quite the bitter bunch!
i think it's a great deal. that's why i posted it. i know becker's are popular on this forum. in fact i had never heard of a becker before and ended up buying one because of this forum.
regardless, i've now bought 3 beckers online. campanion, crewman, and a necker. they all cost around 25-30$ shipping (the necker a bit less). in case you forget they are a foot long and quite heavy. add to that the retail value for a becker new is over a 100$ dollars not including shipping.
anyway, doesn't make a difference to me. i'm just surprised at how negative everyone has reacted.
