I love to see the maturity shown by all of you. Maybe if you all stopped bashing each other and said what you had to say without the crappy attitudes this thread would be a little more helpful to the other people in these forums. And thank you to the people who are being mature despite the other's comments.

+1

People calling names and suggesting others are being crybabies for using this forum for its intended purpose need to grow up.

Ok, what you posted is dumb and stupid.

There, I said what I had to say!!!!:p:p

Well I have no issue with "knifestore" since they apparently shipped (and emailed me with a USPS delivery confirmation number) within a couple of days of my placing an order.

However, today the delivery confirmation number (when queried on the net) indicated that the knife had been delivered yet there was no package in my box.

I don't think it was stolen since there was a Priority Mail package from Sooner State Knives in the mail box and any self respecting thief would ordinarily steal both packages.

But now I'm at a loss as to how to recover the funds for the loss or misdelivery since the package wasn't shipped insured via the post office.

Anyone know if credit card companies provide relief in instances like that?

Some of those replies just seemed unnecessarily harsh to the original poster. Sure, there are a lot of other places out there to buy from, but he voiced a very valid concern that other people should know about; knifestore's customer service may not be very good. If everyone were to follow the advice of "shut up and find another place," why have this forum? It doesn't seem like one return is that big a deal to me when you consider you're losing a customer and possibly future customers by word of mouth.

Anyways, I've dealt with knifestore once on ebay and recall their service being satisfactory. I never had to contact them, so I don't know what their customer service is like. I'd simply suggest you buy from somewhere else if there is no resolution to the problem. If they don't want your business, then they don't deserve it.

Blues,

Try to run that down with your letter carrier, or postmaster. It's scanned as delivered when it hits the receiving post office, so it may still make it. Definitely contact the local postmaster about it. They'll probably find it.

Thanks for your input, Gene. It was actually scanned as at the post office around 8 am or so. Then it was scanned as "delivered" just before 3pm.

It still may be a case of either not fitting in the box or just a brain cramp by the sub that had the route today.

I'll check on Monday for sure. Thankfully we're not talking major bucks here as it was a production knife, but still, nobody wants to pay for goods they didn't receive.

Thanks again!

Blues, definitely follow up with your local post office and the mail carrier. One time last year I had a knife package show up as delivered. I was home at the time, so I knew there was no way in heck that the carrier left a package for me. Turns out the carrier scanned the package and then forgot it in his car when he walked up to the mailbox.

Maybe your carrier scanned both boxes but only grabbed one box. At any rate, hope it turns up and good luck!

Oh, aww. maybe ask your postman for wrong deliveries.

Thanks, guys for the good words and advice. I don't think weight or other specific info is available...

The USPS tracking site only provides this info (some redacted by me):

Praxis, I can definitely see something like you described happening. I know that FedEx Home Delivery regularly scans items in advance even when I haven't received them.

After speaking to the post office and my regular carrier this morning it was clear that the sub had misdelivered the parcel on Saturday.

Fortunately, the recipieint was honest and left the carton in their mail box with the flag up so it could be properly delivered which it was just a little while ago.

And, relevant to Knifestore, I gotta give them a big attaboy!

When I told them what had happened over the weekend, they offered to send a replacement for essentially half price if the original didn't show up. (Pretty nice considering that it was through no fault of their own. I think they even offered to pick up the shipping but don't quote me on that.)

So, happy ending to the story and kudos to Knifestore for offering to go the extra mile.
