Delica / Endura fixed blades.

like a previous commenter, i'd like it to be exactly the same size/shape/form as a delica, but non-folding.

actually, in all honestly i'd LOVE it if it were an H1 Salt-I-like fixed blade. i think the smaller size (vs the pacific salt/endura size) would be preferable. that would really, in my mind, be the perfect worry-free EDC and camp knife. think about it: everything from opening boxes to working in the garden to cleaning game to processing small wood to spreading peanut butter and stirring coffee : ) (preferably not in that order)

I love Moran fixed, Spyderco makes some great fixed blade knives, but the ergonomics could be improved in a fixed blade version of the Endura/Delica

I would love to see a 3"+ H1 fixed blade from Spyderco also. I need something to carry around beach areas and to take salt water kyaking, etc and I genreally don't care much for folders.

I would definitely want an endura fixed blade. I love edcing a small fixed blade and this would be perfect.

If Spyderco made a fixed blade Endura with the same ergos and FRN as the current folder, I would buy one today as a fishing/camp/outdoor knife.

I'm assuming that you would wish to maintain the overall shape? Lower the hump? Endura or Delica size/shape? FRN scales? Same texture?

sal

I would love to have one of each size. FFG, VG10 or something equivalent for steel, keep the hump and jimping, and FRN scales with the same texture as the folders. They would make great gardening/yard work or general utility knives.

Agreed 100%. I would definitely buy a Delica FB, especially if it comes in cool colors like the folders do.

I'd die for a slightly larger version of the already excellent Street Beat made with CPM-154, Elmax or CPM-M4. (The Street Beat is very good for urban EDC, but I'm envisioning something larger and a little bit thicker for camp duties.)

If the scales used the same screw hole pattern as the folders, perhaps Spyderco could sell the scales in different colors as an accessory so that you could change the color any time you wanted or replace them when worn or damaged.

Edited to clarify: Use the actual scales on the folders for the fixed blade version to keep development and production costs down by using common parts.

I think something like this was once made. Either way, I'm not sure this statement is on topic.

I would love a fixed Delica 4. It would work great with a pocket holster system. I think that vg10 would be excellent as would H1.

Cool thread. Thought about this when BM had their fixed Grip out.

My dreams of a fixed E4 would be:

the same basic shape except a slightly lower hump,
finger choil,
maybe a half inch longer blade,
g-10 handles
lanyard hole
same jimping at the choil and hump
full tang

That would be a cool hiking, hunting, small camp knife.

I've been wondering for quite some time if Spyderco would produce a 3" or so H1 fixed blade. I hope so. Maybe in choice of PE or SE or at least partially SE'd.

I'd relish the chance to buy a fixed Delica with FRN handle and a simple light molded sheath.
