Delica / Endura fixed blades.

I'm eager for this though... Just give us all kind of options though!!!!

Random news- my endura 1 got put through the wash last night.... Not a thing bothered

I would buy an E4 fixed blade. The texture on the handles is already good, so just make a full tang version of it and I'm sure they'll sell out. I'd buy one, two if they offered it in both H1 and VG-10.

after watching endless guys on "Whale Wars " struggle to cut prop fouling lines and other rope .I would love to send them some fixed spyderedged pacific salts . They need them big time ! They actually used a black p.salt pe to cut life jackets to plug a hole on the bob barker last season .this year I'm like well one knife guy is there why is he not educating the others.

If the scales used the same screw hole pattern as the folders, perhaps Spyderco could sell the scales in different colors as an accessory so that you could change the color any time you wanted or replace them when worn or damaged.

Edited to clarify: Use the actual scales on the folders for the fixed blade version to keep development and production costs down by using common parts.

This seems like an intriguing idea. If Spyderco could make fixed blade blanks that fit into the existing frn handle for either the Delica or Endura (both?), then the same molds could be used and the existing screw holes could be used to attach the handles. You could release them in VG10, H1, or even ZDP-189 (assuming Seki production) and the screw construction would allow for the blades and handles to be exchanged. You could even leave the pivot hole open to be used for a forward lanyard or for lashing.

I am far from educated about knife manufacturing, but re-purposing the existing handle and hardware would seem to cut down on production costs. You could probably cut the fixed blade blanks out on the same machine used to cut the folder blades, right? It seems like there would be very little R+D needed since you really aren't designing an entirely new knife, and there is no lock to fuss with, so the only real hurdle would be production capacity.

This keeps sounding better to me every day. Excellent input from everyone!

You know, you could even ship it with a standard clip (tip down) and use a kydex/boltaron sheath that was slim and had no hardware. You could carry it in a pocket just like the folder and pop the sheath off with your thumb. You could also use the clip to attach it to Molle or PAL webbing on a pack, or even the strap of something like a versipack. I could see myself attaching the tip of the sheath to the lanyard hole with some 550 cord so I could pop the sheath off with one hand had not loose it. A hole in the tip of the sheath would also allow for inverted neck carry.
