Delica vs Endura for EDC?

I know what you mean. The G10 Byrd Robin and Byrd Meadowlark fit my fat paws extremely well, but the larger Cara Cara is very uncomfortable for me to hold. :confused:/QUOTE]
Yep, exactly. The Cara Cara is another good example of that strange phenomenon. It's nice to hear that I'm not the only one who's experienced this.

I've recently acquired a CE Delica 4, and a SE Endura 4. I love both, they perform great and are extremely solid-feeling. The knife I will continue using at my job and in public in general is my Delica 4. It's a bit easier on my pocket material when being pulled from the clipped position; it also has the same awesome cutting power in a smaller packege. Though now I kinda wish my Delica 4 were a full SE, the CE so far has not let me down.

Maybe it's because I was so used to the Endura 3, but the Endura 4 feels massive in comparison, when in reality the size difference between the two is negligible. I have many large folders that are larger/ heavier than the E-4, but I suppose it's all in my mind that it seems like a vault (which is a good thing).

I went with the delica(waved of course). I own knives that are the same size as the endura but that extra size made a big difference for me when I decide to carry it down in the pocket and not clipped. The delica is the perfect size for EDC in my opinion. Handle fills my hand and just barely pokes out the bottom..so there is plenty to hold onto. I find the handle a little longer than my other knifes with same size blade.

90% of my use would be opening boxes, plastic, and things of that nature. So I dont need that extra inch to cut anything any deeper.

I got both the Byrd Robin and the Endura 4 today after trying out those two, the Delica and the Volpe. In the store the Endura grip felt way better for my big hands than the Delica and Volpe did.

That said, while the Endura feels great and fits well in my pocket, it is really big (didn't look that big in the store, must have grown on the way home :P)... so I'm thinking of going back later in the week and give the Delica another shot, and if it still doesn't feel too small in the handle I'll probably pick it up too.

The Byrd Robin has a great grip for such a small knife (much better than my friend's U2) and will be a keeper (I got one with metal handles so I can wear it to my suit), but it is a bit on the small side for my paws to comfortably one-hand open it, that's my only gripe with it so far.

I carry a ZDP-189 endura 4 and i love it. The delica just seemed too small personally for my uses, but its something you need to try out for yourself

I have been carrying an Endura 4 tip up in my left hip pocket nearly every day for over a year. It's never once slipped out of my pocket. I also own one of the older Delicas. I like them both, but I favor the Endura 4 more. I used it a few weeks ago to cut apart a large head of cabbage, and I doubt it would have been so easy with the shorter Delica.
Me personally, (and maybe I have issues or something) if I'm buying any type of knife and need to choose between two models that are identical except for size, I have learned to buy the largest one of the two or else I will regret it if I just buy the shorter blade. I have never regretted buying a larger knife instead of its "little brother" model. Just a few days ago I purchased a SOG Spec-Elite II instead of the shorter model.
