Delivery times?

You're good to go if you're LEO or EMT! Otherwise, the wait is excessive!
Makes me wonder, how the F does Liu Kang have so many GD Hinderers for sale!

How long do EMTs and such generally have to wait when ordering direct?

For those that qualify to order direct, It totally depends on what you want. If a model interests you that we are building at the time of your inquiry the lead time is normally about 3-4 weeks. We make knives in batches, so if you are interested in a model we do not have in stock, it could be months. We only take orders for knives we are building at the time, we don't take pre-orders of any sort or maintain a waiting list. One knife per person, per batch.

How do you get one if you're not an EMT/LEO? No one is taking orders.

Keep checking the dealer sites, go to one of the 4-5 knife shows each year, keep an eye on the secondary market, post a WTB thread, make friends with those that might sell one of their knives, etc.

I have seen the best (most reasonable) availability in the For Sale by Individual sub-forum here on BF.
You are most assured of getting accurate honest info here as well (IMO)
Good luck. Sweetest fruit is at the top of the tree, it's worth the climb.

I plan (optimistically crossing my fingers) to pick one up at ECCKS.

Rob - Any teasers pics for the show?

Pretty awesome that you host a couple events at the shop, I'll sure plan to attend the next one whenever it is.
Gas up the car, there is one in a couple of weeks. **Hinderer/TDI Knife Defense Class and Get Together - February 10-12**

So let me ask - I was attempting to get on a list to get a Hinderer at list price. Which all signs point to "Its Not Going To Happen" after multiple dealers either did not reply or said there are no waiting lists or pending orders. The other dealers listed, when they do list knives, are listed at the secondary market rate. So, is the secondary market rate now the "true rate" for an XM? That's part of the reason I don't buy them on the Exchange, the price (my opinion only) is above what I'd like to pay.

We have dealers that sell at retail price, we have some that triple the price.....Once it is in the dealers hands, it is out of ours. If you want to know what our prices are just check the Sticky at the top of our forum page. Do you know where the knives that dealers have in stock came from? Did they come from the secondary market, knife shows where there is no discount from us?...Maybe the knife was picked up on the show floor at a higher price? If you think about it, beyond supply and demand there are a lot of factors that come into play with pricing and this has been discussed to ad nauseam.

This thread has taken its course, so I am closing it down.
