Delta Foxtrot by Dylan Fletcher

Thanks for this...sweet torture:D You know I love that knife. When you posted those pics from Blade, this one jumped right out at me.
Similar to something I'd drawn up as an "all-arounder", but better in some ways-like that slight negative included angle, and integral thumbrest that I don't care to see on a chopper, but give extra control and leverage on straight cuts for a knife this size. Looks very solid, and VERY comfortable. Can tell lot of thought went into it. Came out great, and gives a wonderful sense of balancing so many different aspects.

Dylan did an excellent job at combining the different elements and aspects of this knife to create a very functional field knife with great usability, superb ergonomics, and wonderful aesthetics all at the same time.

Congrats on the DF Brian. This Fletchers look realy special.

Yes, I think Dylan's work is special indeed. If his work interests you then you might want to catch him early...or at least keep an eye on him.

Great review Brian. It was good to meet you at Blade. Nice score on the Delta Foxtrot, I got to fondle one at Dylan's table and the one Shotgunner11 scored. Man, I wish I had budgeted more spending money for Blade. :(

Dylan, this is a great design and your attention to detail is truly first rate. Well done. I'm sure I'll be getting one of these in the near future.

Richard

That looks to be a helluva knife! Great review Mist, and excellent work Dylan!

Thanks again guys! I can't even put into words how stoked I've been since the first day of Blade Show. Everything is rockin' and rollin' now. Got knives being sold, drawing out a couple of new designs for testing right now, getting ready to order all the steel and materials for the next batch. It's really movin'! This week I'll be moving my tools and KMG into Andy's shop. Then we can bust out some serious numbers and really crank knives out. You guys are going to see a lot of new stuff pretty quick! Andy and I have been discussing some ideas about changes for him and new directions for me that are really going to raise the bar for our work.

Man, I love seeing this thread. Look at that grind - true convex - sabergrind. I couldn't have done that knife any better. Great work Bro. I'm glad to see this footing you're getting.

Cool, looking forward to the new designs

He did an amzing job on this knife, the grinds are spectacular as are the ergonomics...the whole thing is just fantastic. That speaks vollumes about you as well Andy, very well done on your part too my friend.

With a mean sounding name like that, how could it fail? It would scare its way through about anything.:o

I can't take much credit. For him to get so far so fast is more because he's a natural, than because I'm some kinda good teacher. Also, we get along really well. That helps in a shop.

It was nice matching a name with a face. Let me know if youu want to check out any of my work.

Not really...it's his B&G (Blood & Guts) model that's a little scary :)

It was nice meeting you, and getting to put a personality with the knives.

I can tell he's a natural, but I can still also see your influences on his work.

You make beautiful knives Andy. I already know which one I want...um first anyway :) . I'm so hoping to come up with the funds for one of your Lady-Fingers by this fall when the good camping and hiking weather comes back around. If life hadn't been so screwy for me the last few years I'd already have one instead of just lusting after them whenever I see one...but such is life. I have a few irons in the fire currently and have made some investments into projects so hopefully it will all work out.
