I don’t know which is “tougher” - they both have thick blades and chunky grinds. In general Hinderers may have slightly chunkier tips so tougher to snap a tip. Body construction, both are pretty sturdy. However my dullest Demko came sharper than my sharpest Hinderer, I like the Demko ergos and egos both a lot more, and the various Demko locks are all tough and innovative so on balance I’d prefer a Demko.

As much as I love my Hinderers (XM-24) I have to say that the AD20 is on top right now.
Hinderers have the 'looks' and Demkos have the 'locks'!
All frame-locks wear down over time, while the shark lock is timeless.

I've had various models of both and you couldn't go wrong with either brand. Hinderer definitely has a lot more customization options.

If I'm choosing a folder at 3.5"+ blade length I'm going with the Spartan Harsey Folder.
