Design Your Perfect EDC Knife Contest

John,
this is a very nice thread and idea. I want to participate but at the moment I'm far away from home and I won't be back before the deadline. Also, I would never be able to deliver the cardboard cutout in a few days, considering my location. Yet, I have an interesting (or so I believe :p) idea and I hope I manage to draw the pattern and submit it here :)

As I understand it, you only need to send a sketch of your idea, the cutout is not needed until later and only if you actually have your knife built. So come on and send your sketch!

I've been dragging my feet I know but here are my two working designs, I want to work on tem some more but as you know we're runnign out of time

I never named mine.

I'll leave it up to John but I was thinking either "Two5" for its 2.5" blade or, to play on the Rule #9, calling it the Rule #5 (Which is "You don't waste good".) Whether it's people, whiskey, or knives, you put them to work. Don't let them sit while you use something inferior.

Looks like the contest will be a go. Anyone who posted a picture and does not pay by the 14th, will not be eligible to be in the voting.

OK, here's the M22. 2 1/2" blade and 6 1/4" overall length. Blade height is roughly 7/8" at its tallest. 3/32" stock with full height flat grind.

Heres my final submission. This can printed to scale and traced onto cardboard, no problem.
I added a slight curve to the entire back of the knife and rounded the butt end a little more.
Mine is a bigger knife than some have created, but I like a full handle with a tough blade that I can really put to use if I need to.

Do me a favor and delete the one you don't want so I don't get confused and enter the wrong one.

It's not as clean as I would like, but I just found this thread and wanted to get something to submit, to busy to these days to have time to sketch it over again. The first pic is just the sketch, the second has BM Griptilian for size reference. Lastly is a cut out in cardboard of the tool in hand. This is exciting and fun, looking forward to how it proceeds!

Payment sent.

Really like the look of the troll, looks like it was meant for a lot of skinning.

I also like the m22, looks like the handle should just be a tad longer to fit a four finger grip, I wonder if that would make it comfortable.

These look great! I have misplaced my pocket scandi. Had a flooded basement and with all the mess and cleanup, put it somewhere and can't find it. So no go with sending the measurements to John. I'll cheer the rest of you on!

Some nice practical patterns for this contest. There are several that I wouldn't mind owning! [emoji4]

Quick question JK! Do I send the PayPal payment to the email on your signature? I'll be sending it by the end of the day!
