Desperately Seeking Loveless...

Very good looking piece indeed. It must be a true pleasure to go on the hunt for "that" piece armed with your knowledge and connections. With that in mind it must be quite enjoyable to see the fruits of your labor. It has always appeared to me that you are quite a determined individual, you know what you want and will pay for a specific piece. You certainly don't come across as impulsive at all, at least from what I gather in your posts.

Thanks, everyone, and keen observations, Jon.

This style of knife has been on my radar for a long time...it is a sleek fighter with an almost 6" blade and a little less than 11" overall....maybe a little big for deep carry, but probably good under a jacket. It is almost identical to the Wilderness, which is a little bigger, and a little wider....not too many people have known about this model compared to the Bear subhilts, the Battle knife, the drop points and the NY Special.

Not an impulse buy at all, just the ability to get it....which doesn't exactly present itself often. Although I have seen 2-3 in person, and have seen a few on the web, they were either sold or not for sale. Placing an order with Loveless, and hoping it gets made was what seemed to be the only shot.

Dave gave me an end to the search, which was not the fun part in this case. Holding it is.....it is an experience that can only be described as premordially sensual, or more elementally, it makes you wanna stab somethin'.

Best Regards,

STeven Garsson

Always glad to be of service and thanks for your kind words.
Enjoy it
Dave

Now, Stevie, you can start humming that old Peggy Lee song "Is that all there is?" Oops!, you may not be old enough to remember.:D

Great knife and you couldn't have got it from a better guy. Congrats!

Roger

If you don't already have it in your hands I would suggest flying over to Dave to pick it up in person!! That would be a treat in itself.

Absolutely tooo cool! Not many of us get even a chance at our grail knife. Lucky you, lucky me, too. Really glad for you STeven.

Bob

I'm very happy for you Steven- just deserts for all you do for the "hobby". Enjoy!

Well... isn't it a sad day too ? Your quest is over...Congrats anyway, if I ever buy a loveless, it'll be a Dixon fighter.

No, not sad at all.

Motivated-to sell some knives to offset the cost..

Satisfied-was able to get a highly desired knife while Bob Loveless is still kicking around...

Ecstatic-that my wife was able to be there with me, and we were both able to accomplish a lifelong goal within a week of each other(she flew a jet fighter-trainer last weekend, and I got the Dixon Fighter)

There is no reason for sadness when you have so many good things going on, and you can reflect back 25 years and remember the kid that looked at a Loveless knife and thought..."it just won't get any better than that".:D

Congrats STeven. I figured it would not take too long once some key players knew your goal!
