Does anyone have any pictures/anecdotes of actually destroying a Becker blade? Just curious if anyone has actually been able to do extensive damage to one...

Moose has, I am sure he will be along at some point with some pictures. Or if you are really curious I bet you could find them with a little searching.

Here is a vid of Moose and the man himself testing the BK-14

I believe the only Becker moose hasn't broken (of the current production models) is the BK2. I've only heard of one BK2 ever being broken, but it was from extensive throwing (bad for hardened steels).

I know I've seen video of ethan breaking a BK14, but I can't think of any beckers being broken in normal use.

I snapped my bk9 in half from cutting a stick of garlic butter, thing snapped like a twig :D

My bk9 is siding with queen victoria, it is not amused! and doesnt appreciate the the joke on its behalf. My BK9 would like to see both your garlic butter and you to deal with you both appropriately :)

Wait your Canadian?....... I didnt think yall broke stuff.......

Noss tested a BK9 a while back to destruction and succeeded. IIRC the blade chipped when they were chopping a cinder block and it later snapped in that spot. Can't find the video anymore though.

there's a handful of examples over 30 years... it's pretty unusual. actual breakage...

there are a few more people who've chipped out blades/etc by hammering them into rocks and nails and silicated wood knots, or otherwise imho abusing them in some way. in almost all cases they were warranted, and advised "don't do that again". knives are NOT covered for throwing for instance. or angle grinders. or nuclear war ;)

and there are actual tests to destruction and what not. good stuff those.

amusingly, if you go down to SMKW, they have a display case by ESEE showing a lot of "damaged blades"; most done on purpose to secure a new blade under warranty. now, if that's not cheating, i don't know what is.

I have heard the SMKW guys actually say "You can literally cut your ESEE in half with a blowtorch and send it back and they will send you a new one"

I believe there were some cops down South that broke a tactool after the hurricane by trying to open a prison cell with it. Seems they were big boys, three of them too.

The old 440A tactool no less. :D

I cant imagine breaking a BK2 under normal use, even breaking a piece of the tip seems like it would be pretty tough. I wouldnt consider using it as a pry bar normal use for a knife
