Determining value: When does a knife cost too much?

I learned to buy wrenches by ringing them on concrete. I have 1967 snap on wrenches and sockets I bought second hand and they ring! New stuff is crap, ratchets are crap... Snap on cresent wrenches are made by bahco in spain, same cresent wrench that channellock sells.

I trust harbor freight tools more than ever, as companies no longer make a product to last it's all about profits! Straight to china freight if I need it now or one time use. I made a living for a while off my tools, stocked my work truck with cheap tools.

I don't think Spyderco is worth the money for the fit and finish. I do think they make a lifetime product and that is why I buy them. One of the few companies left in this world that does things right.

You need to check out CPK (Carothers Performance Knives) knives.

I am in there group buy for a Kephart, will see how it compares to my 3v Lt wright Genesis. I really don't like screws in fixed blade knife handles.

Oh, cool. I'm waiting for my preordered DEK1. The next CPK knife that I want is a DEF.
I love screws in fixed blade knife handles. Makes it easy to remove/clean under/replace them. How come you don't like handles with screws in them?

When it's more than the market will bear .

Like all the stuff I see at Ebay that never gets one serious bid .

Price reserve set too high .

I like one piece epoxied on handles on fixed blade knives makes them even easier to clean. Nothing to come loose or move with use either. On folders I find screws required, as commercial grade solvent is sometimes needed to clean up. Side note I actually tried crkt take apart knife and loved it for about a month. After a month the self take apart feature killed it.

I’ll tell ya when a knife costs too much...when flipper scumbags get their hands on a desirable model.

Do you mean those cheesy rat tail tangs that poke into a handle with a hole in it? I would never spend my money on one of them, no offense. Blue Loctite is no problem if you apply some heat - piece of cake.
