Deutscher Dienstag (German Tuesday)

I think I'll pocket my favorite gunstock tomorrow for DD. German made Winchester with fabulous deep jigging.

I have to think this is an advertising piece provided to doctors and veterinarians. It might have been included in a doctor's kit or with a selection of medicines. Pill cutting, field compounding, perhaps even cigar trimming would be the sorts of things the Bayer rep might have had in mind.

My 2¢.

I think Bayer/Bayerne is a province/county/region in south central Germany.
I was stationed in a city called Bayreuth close the Czech border.
I think it was the regional capitol.
I was with a 1st Cav border patrol unit there '74 to 76'
Just a WAG on the knife.
Edit-I looked at the map.(:

All true, but the Bayer cross dates to 1904 and the name comes from company founder Friedrich Bayer.

Then there is the Bundesliga soccer team Bayer Leverkusen The club was founded in 1904 by employees of the German pharmaceutical company Bayer AG, whose headquarters are in Leverkusen and from which the club draws its name.

Layers of possible connection with the knife!

Kind of like Zwiebelkuchen und Neuer Wein. A great dish I used to enjoy in Tübingen, and other things.😍

That's a wonderful Hubertus Springer you show earlier, I'd like to get hold of one but finances & committments....
