Deutscher Dienstag (German Tuesday)

I wonder if that is some type of veterinary knife. The "awl" could be a bistoury, lancet or probe.
Beautiful knife, but, after working as a mixed practice veterinarian for 40 years, I can't see how this knife would have made my job any easier. I think I'd want to use it or something similar for working with rope. Just my thoughts. T-A

Only 15 mins left of Tuesday here

Entschuldigung bitte mein Deutsch. Ich habe noch viel zu lernen.
Is it fair to say the hippekniep is the German version of the American sodbuster pattern?

I believe tiz the uther way round. Old pattern from the change of 1800's to 1900's.
Case came up with the "Sodbuster" name round-about 19 and 67 when they came out with their rendition. 🤔😇👍
Allegedly the pattern was not popular in the USA until 1968~1969 when the Case version took off.

That's what I meant, actually! 😂 I was thinking that German immigrants would have brought the pattern to the American upper Midwest in the 19th century. But I had no idea the American version was so recent 😲.
