Diamond Stropping ?(compounds in syringe vs diamond spray)

Ha , ha , ha
I just dug out some of my old diamond paste in syringes when I was digging around for the block of Gold Stropping stuff I posted in a previous image above .
This diamond goop I bought when I was loading up on metal working and jewelry crafting tools on a visit to Sante Fe back in like 1996 .
This was WELL before I ever imagined I could put a decently sharp edge on a knife that would please me let alone a polished edge . Back then I could make a blade about as sharp as an old lawn mower blade and that was about it.

The 600 Diamond paste has an "Expiration Date"
Ha , ha
it is dated to expire in 2005 .
Yes two zeros .
That's 21 years beyond it's best date.

Should I taste it ? to see if it is still fresh ?

I tried the 15,000 diamond dust on the Edge Pro Hard Ark today .
This was the progression .
The knife was still fairly sharp so didn't dip below 400 but the tip has been giving me trouble while trying to apex it so wanted to take some off the shoulder and sharpening bevel there , hence the 400 to start . The knife sides are not all that flat so I keep getting above the apex while sharpening near the tip .

PS : I was geting some bur on the M4 where I expected to be very little to none as I got into the finer grits . This seams to be the lot when using these Ultra diamond stones on the "softer / lower Vanadium " alloys .
I then sharpened a 15V Para 3 and there was practically no bur for the whole progression .

I used the Ark with 15,000 dust on it dry and only edge trailing .
Once I wear most of the swirls of dust off it I will try edge leading .

The sharpening session seems to have been successful enough .
I took a curl off the end of my thumb nail all the way across without much effort . (that's my test for an edge that I like using for my needs)
