Did anybody already receive his 5.1 3V presale?

Hello Ellie, just for my understanding - apparently you are not operating strictly on a first in first out basis.
Any reason for that like international orders, lack of handles, regular customers?

I know you were addressing Ellie, but I'll add my thoughts..........

The biggest out of order shipping reason is because some (or a lot) of 3v 5.1's were damaged on the way to the SURVIVE! shop. Guy was able to make them perfect again, but it is a really time consuming process. Because of that there are some previously ordered 3v blades that are still being worked on while the 20cv are shipping and some factory second 3v's have been sold. I can imagine there are other factors, but the damage to 3v has been the biggest cause.

Thanks for your explanation Silver. But i'm just talking about factory 1st 3Vs from the presale. Not 2nds and 20cv.
Within these blades first in and out should be possible, unless there is a different approach...

Yep, Silver Needle is talking about the same thing you are. That batch took extra time to bring to 1st quality.

They had problems with all of our presale orders for 5.1s in 3V, and it took extra time to finish them out. The 20cv didn't have that problem and I think all of those are delivered.

HK, maybe it's because i'm not native. For example you already received your knife with a higher order# than mine. As my order status is still on "awaiting..." i'm wondering what kind of approch S!K is following processing their orders.

Do you have any other knives on order? They might group orders together for intercontinental customers. There could be a wait on certain handle materials, but I haven't heard of that.

Whoops! Sorry for not reading closer. I guess we'll have to wait for an answer from the good lady herself!

It could be something like SN is describing here ^, some hiccup that caused its delay. I believe that on the blades that require more work, Guy alone is doing that rework. So just the logistics of running the shop can result in a knife being finished out of order as they work around whatever challenges might arise in the shop that day.

Also, I know it was hard for me to wait when I saw all the presale 20CV arriving that were ordered after my 3V model. When you posted originally, I assumed that you had ordered later than me in the 7300 numbers. That's why I posted the picture and my order #, to show you that they were indeed shipping. Looking back, it kinda seems like I'm pouring salt in your wound and that was not my intention.

Sometimes it boils down to a "shit happens" sort of thing. To be honest, HK got lucky. When Guy left we had some of those blades ready to build so Christian started from the first order placed. But one of the orders he fulfilled was for 3 knives. Since there were limited numbers of blades I decided it was better to use those knives to fulfill 3 orders, rather than 1. HK's specification matched with one of the already built knives and the order was still close to the front of the line. So instead of taking the knife apart and rebuilding, it was just reassigned.

Now that I have a pretty good idea which order is yours, I can say that it is near the front of the line now. It is definitely sharpened and should be getting built tomorrow. You should have a tracking number from us shortly.

HK, you're not the only one who ordered later than me and received his knife. I managed to survive more than 40 years without having one of their admittedly great blades. But currently i'd like to understand the approach they are following and to be on the safe side with my order. As Silver mentioned, should be easy for Ellie to shed light on this.

Aaah Ellie. Took me longer to write my reply to HK's post using some dict.
Thanks for explaining, that's pretty good news before going to sleep. –.–

HK - haha, potentially you got my blade! Treat it well. ;)
