Did anybody already receive his 5.1 3V presale?

I am so frustrated with how long the pre-sale 3v 5.1's are taking that I feel I need to express my irritation. The delays are driving me crazy!!!

So I just pre-ordered a GSO-6. I feel better now! (^^^Yep. I was kidding!)

Well, I received somebody else's Pre-order 5.1. It is Bone linen in CPM-3V..... so now I have a 4.1 old spec and a 5.1 new spec all within the last 2 months. Granted, I didn't get them directly from Survive but my wait time was virtually Nil. I kinda feel like I cheated :o

In any case, let me tell you! That 5.1 is so friggin fantastic I can't even hold it for more then a few seconds without uttering "oh my God" to myself. I mean the thing is absolutely flawless. Anyone that knows anything about knives can hold this one in their hands and know, with no uncertainty, that it's maker has a magnificent passion for creating these knives. Before I was in law enforcement I was a trim carpenter. I hate to brag but I was awesome at it. I did my work with pride and loved doing a good job . I can walk into any home or building and look at the trim and know weather or not someone was doing something they love or just doing a job to get it done. I can even tell when someone was trying to do a good job but just didn't have the skill necessary. When I pick up the 5.1 I could Immediately tell that the craftsman behind it not only takes pride in his work but absolutely loves it and obsesses about it. A feeling I can relate to. The finish is flawless, the edge is perfect and 100% uniform throughout the entire length of the blade, and there are exactly zero machine marks. It is easily in my opinion the most beautiful knife I own, and I own A LOT of knives. I have only one problem with it, and maybe those of you who already have one can help me. How to you bring yourself to use it? How do you get the first nick/scratch on the blade without getting nauseous. I have never felt so apprehensive about using a knife before. I beat the heck out of a 500 dollar Busse with no issues, but I'm sitting here wiping fingerprints off the handle scales of my 5.1.

Bravo, Ant. This is the type of post I hope Guy can read after checking into facebook and seeing all the BS there and I hope Ellie sees this after reading through 700th email complaining about wait times. I also enjoy reading these types of sincerely positive posts.:thumbup:

I'm patiently waiting. I was stupid and ordered a 4.1 knowing the 5.1 would be built first. Over a year wait on the 4.1 but damn it, now I'm waiting on a Gough Resolute too. See, this is what happens when you wait. You get impatient and buy more knives. Now I'm looking at a xm-18 wharncliffe, a CRK 21 and a new wicked edge pro. Had this process been quicker, I could have had all GSO knives and still been married lol.

I was right there with you. My solution was ultimately to buy two. One for the permanent collection, (read safe queen) and one to beat the Hell out of.

You know Silver, I hope they read it also, and I hope that they can see through all the trolling and impatient people who post negative stuff. They truly have a fantastic product and I hope that never changes no matter who whines about waiting and what not. They say the squeaky wheel gets the oil but I hope that in this case that doesn't happen. Keep on doing what you are doing Guy and Ellie and don't let the trolls bring you down! You have many more happy customers then unhappy ones. Problem is that only the unhappy ones post stuff most of the time. I LOVE YOUR KNIVES!:thumbup:

lol Junkyard. I bought the second one on the exchange today. I really need to play the lotto. Feel very lucky

Still waiting on my 20cv pre-sale.....

When you checkout on our website you have to check the box saying that you've read over a few terms and conditions. In those terms and conditions, it warns that if you decide to change your order it may take us a bit longer to fulfill the order. Those orders can take longer for a variety of reasons but some of the big ones are: because it is more likely that a modified order will get placed in the wrong build location, or may get built wrong and need to be reassembled, or if inventory is a concern it will get placed behind orders which were not modified to ensure those folks receive exactly what they ordered.

Since you have changed pretty much every order you have placed with us, I'd say you've been pretty lucky so far.

Your current orders, in particular, may take a bit longer since I don't know when I will have the time to look through the sheaths to find one that will meet your standards. I know Guy and I have both talked with you on separate occasions about the sheath eyelets and have offered to cancel and refund the sheaths so you can put the funds toward a custom sheath. I also know you decided to keep the sheaths on order as is, but since you have continued to mention it in public venues I was planning to try and find one without the splits for you so that we can all be done with that issue.

For folks who are curious about the eyelet issue here is more information:
Our new production sheaths may have some tiny splits in the smaller flared side of eyelets. We have talked with the company who produces our sheaths and they have never experienced a sheath failure due to this issue so we are ok with it. We are especially ok with it because the company that is now making our sheaths is capable of producing thousands each month, to the same quality standards we have always demanded. No company in the past has ever been able to keep up with our demand and this is the first time in SURVIVE! history that orders are not waiting on sheaths. Kiah makes great quality sheaths, but he cannot keep up with you guys. The cracking is simply a byproduct of how many sheaths they are able to produce. They use different methods than smaller makers who typically use slower methods to roll the eyelets into place.

Awesome! I don't do that very often, but I do it with what I consider "critical" gear. You know, the gear I would not want to wait to replace if mine was lost, stolen, broken, or seized for evidence. My wife refers to these spare items as my "change of clothes" gear. Being a LEO, I figured you might understand, as this behavior stems from an incident early in my career, when my sidearm was taken in evidence, (we supplied personally owned sidearms from an "approved" list) and I was given a Dept. loaner until the investigation was concluded. It was in awful condition, and I don't think anyone had ever cleaned it. Needless to say I bought a second identical sidearm, qualified with it, and never used a Dept. Loaner again. So began my critical gear ritual.

Anyway, congrats on the back-up.

That's a good idea. Our loaners are in bad shape also. We are all upgrading to Gen 4 Glock 19s next year, since my dept picks up half the tab for us I may just get 2.

Thanks for the heads up, as long as it's not a structural issue it should be fine. I think Hale Storm might have been talking about that kind of thing in one of the other threads.
