Hey guys,

Can anyone chime in and let me know if I got a good deal on this FBM LE?

I just bought it on *bay using "Buy It Now!":Click Here

Seems like a good deal to me, even with the $25 shipping.

For $26... definitely!

But I'm sure it was a mistake on the sellers part. :o
I don't think he ment to set the buy it now price, but rather the starting bid.

If it were me... I would give him the choice to retract and start over.

LOL, for a dollar + shipping? Ummmm, yeah, if he lets you have it. OUCH, that is a serious error! I wonder why he didn't notice that right away...:confused: You aren't going to hold him to that, are you?? :( He's a good guy, and this is obviously a mistake.

Yeah, be a good guy and explain his error to him. Poor guy. Doesn't understand eBay that well, or English that well. It's clear from his response to the question that he meant to start it at $1, not BIN it at $1.

if you look lower down, some one did point out to him that the buy it now price was listed at $1.00 and he said yes, I know, I start the price low and it will go up from there. Looks like he did not understand the that Buy it now price means the price to end the auction for that price.

for the original poster, That was a mistake, and I guarantee he won't be able to honor that. 1 dollar + 25 shipping = about a 700 dollar discount.

i have to agree with the crowd, that looks like an error on the sellers part. I've made several such errors, but always in the length of sale, never the buy it now slot.

While the chance of getting that knife for 26$ is enticing, I'd only do it if it was at a yard sale and the person didn't know what they had.

I don't know about that. If the buyer pushed, the seller could get an infraction from ebay. certain infractions can get you kicked off ebay, others just put you on thin ice. I don't know what ebay's policy is towards a seller refusing shipment based on a mistake like that. I think the seller could get away with just taking negative feedback...

That seller has 236 positive feedbacks. He obviously knows how ebay works. His loss is your gain! But I don't think he will send it to you.

Yeah, but for $700 I'd rather be kicked off and start again then take that big a loss. I think the honorable thing to do would be to let him re-list it.

that is a cryin' shame... do him a favor and give him a couple hundred for it.....lol

he might cut you a pretty good deal now that he only has to pay like 4 cents in fees.

work his error to your advantage...there is no way he is mailing it to you based on that sale...good score though......:D

doesnt work like that. you would have to use a different:
email address
paypal account
credit card
bank account

and the second your name turns up on any of them, your booted. I have a friend who was kicked off because school and work kept him from caring about it for a month, and his only option is to have his friends sell/buy things for him.

he wont get kicked off.

it was an obvious mistake and the Ebay cops wont do a thing to him.

you could give him negative feed back but then he gets a chance to explain himself.

unless the dude has some crazy honor code he lives by:D

An eBay auction is a binding contract and is enforceable. Even though he may know eBay, he obviously made a mistake, which we are all prone to doing. Maybe he'll be open to working something out with you, like a small discount for his mistake. I wouldn't hold his feet to the fire though, I like to sleep well at night. Something about treating people the way I would want to be treated helps with that.

Thats a fact and just to point out.....

THere is an option to remove the listing due to an error etc. The buyer just happened to hit buy it now prior to seller removing the listing.

There is no way that ebay will force the sale of that particualr transaction.:thumbdn:

NO WAY:D

Looks like wuyeah got his ass reamed on that one! I screwed one up, a FBM LE, but not that bad. That is easily an error and should be re-listed. No Regrets!! but maybe a re-list...
