Did someone buy KFC or is BFC a "monopoly" about now?

One of my guys complained of the same problem. Like you he has a HotMail addy. I suspect they may have blocked registration for all HotMail accounts. Trolls and all, don'tcha know.

We of the Wholly Brotherhood and Cisternity believe it is impossible to determine whether a buyer got screwed until it is known what price he paid, and we believe it is impossible to determine whether a moderator has jumped ship until it is known that he has left the ship. (The analogy is not entirely applicable; while it may be impossible to accept a position crewing on a new ship without leaving one's former ship, it is certainly possible to serve as moderator of more than one forum; many people do it.) (The question of whether jumping ship would be an ethical action in this case is moot until it is known whether the action occurred and might as well wait ... besides, even if it turns out the action occurred it's likely to turn out no one considers it unethical so there won't be anything to debate about....)

We believe some of the people posting in this thread may have been surreptitiously drugged by agents of the Ministry of Darkness and may not have been in their right minds at the time. We hope urine tests will absolve them of all responsibility.

For what it's worth, our fanatical leader, Cougar Allen, registered successfully at tacticalforums.com using his own name.

Who knows ... maybe Tuff isn't really banned and it was only a bug in a new system, or maybe our fanatical leader has merely been overlooked so far and will be banned soon. Time will tell....

ROFLMAO ROFLMAO ROFLMAO ROFLMAO ROFLMAO ROFLMAO!!!!!

Yo Mike and Spark, the logic of everything that you have to say about this situation is concise and very well compiled, on top of that, logical and honest, but YOU JUST DON'T GET IT, DO YOU??!!! He hasn't succeeded yet, but Steve is trying to bring you DOWN to his level and beat you with experience...his plan is QUITE OBVIOUSE, he is waiting for both of you to slump dead over your keyboards...then he will laugh his ass off!

Really, you guys cannot win this, the only person who can win this is Steve, and that is if your hands fall off.

Yeah! Drop the chalupa...

It ain't over till Steve gives up, and he won't. I've lost hope.

Yeah! Drop the chalupa...

If you do a search on TF,use Mike in the search engine, search under general discussions. You will see that Mike did make a post on TF......it seems to be gone.I guess it looks like BAD BLOOD!

In fairness to Steve, he is not the only one that feels like he does. Many people, like my self, respect both Steve and Mike&Spark, and therefore, do not want to get involved. Many people on the Maddog side, just do not want to get involved, probably a good idea.
Try to remember that this was just one measly test - no big deal. There have been plenty of other tests in which Maddog's O-1 at 62Rc has done just fine chopping through anything. Worst case scenario, IMO - Maddog has had some quality control problems.
I'm not quite sure why Mike&Spark have built this test up to be such a big deal, but I think they have used their position as Owner/Admin, to their advantage. Many people do not want to get involved because noone wants to fight with the guy who pays the bills!? That's like biting the hand that feeds you.
I hope Steve meant that he was through with Mike&Spark and not through with Bladeforums entirely. This place is definitely better because of people like him.
I have no particular allegiance to either side. I do own one Maddog knife.
I am also waiting for the multiple posts by the Bladeforums admins concerning Lynn Thompson and Cold Steels performance on the tests. After all, he claims that his knives are the best ever, and they clearly did not win the testing overall. How can we let this false information be distributed and stand by and do nothing? We need to expose Cold Steel for what they are, correct?

Marco

We could have a great controversy over Cold Steel knives if Lynn Thompson were to say the knife tested was a reject with a secret mark hidden under the handle. I wish he would; that'd be fun, and I certainly wouldn't miss the opportunity to expose Cold Steel knives for what they are (I've never missed one yet....)
smile.gif

Unfortunately, though, Lynn marks his seconds by branding a big S into the handle. You don't even need a microscope to see it, let alone an x-ray machine. Oh, well....
frown.gif

Even in the absence of any message from Lynn Thompson, though, how can we be sure the Cold Steel knife that didn't win the test wasn't a reject? Some of his rejects might be have secret marks. Let's x-ray that knife -- and examine it under a powerful microscope -- and try a fluoroscope, and a variety of chemicals to see if we can develop a mark made in invisible ink, and hire a psychic to test for telepathic messages, and ... I can't think of any other ways to look for secret marks right now, but if I think of any later I'll post again (and that's not a promise, it's a threat!)

Why is it that every time a controversy erupts a forum dies?

If a man says something in the woods and there are no women there to correct him, is he still wrong?

Marco, if you or anyone out there has any information contradicting anything we've said, please do us all a favor and step forward. I'm the last person that wants poor information spread around.

As for the controversy being built to what it was / is, you have to realize that we aren't the ones making the statements that cause the controversy, and are willing to discuss it. Everything we said has been backed up, and when we have been proven wrong, we've acceptted it and moved on. It's part of being responsible - admitting your mistakes, and doing the right thing.

Re: Lynn Thompson, I think the main difference is that you don't see anyone claiming that there's been no failures with the knives, or that they are made by aliens in Area 51 or something. Every claim that's been disproven is pretty much accepted as is, and nobody is saying that the truth isn't really the truth. Everyone willingly admits that the hype doesn't really live up to the knives, etc etc etc. Different situations, though if it did happen, it would probably be dealt with the same way: by presenting the facts.

Misque, your humor is irrelevant. It detracts from our purpose, and will be eliminated.

"Why is it that every time a controversy erupts a forum dies?"

Actually that doesn't happen every time; it only seems like it. Most controversies end in agreement.

"Re: Lynn Thompson, I think the main difference is that you don't see anyone claiming that there's been no failures with the knives, or that they are made by aliens in Area 51 or something."

That's an interesting idea ... maybe I'll claim CS knives are made by illegal aliens in Area 51 ... or something ... I'll have to consult with the Wholly Cistern about it ... I'll get back to you....

By the way, do we have any experts on US immigration law on the forum? I wonder ... what's the default? I mean, I know there are restrictions on immigration from some places, not from others ... if there's no law about a particular place, what's the default? When the Great Day arrives and the flying saucers land will legal aliens emerge from them, or illegal aliens?

Greetings All,
I just want to introduce myself I am the one who is/was trying to but KFC, my intentions were to keep things close to the same types of discussions going now I am not so sure I'm going to go through with it. I will not disclose the price, but it was not chicken scratch. The object was to commercialize it a bit and so on, I bought a dual processor server, Lots of memory. Well after what has happened I might just as well build a site from scratch and be done with it. I'm not sure if Earl new this was happening, he says he didn't, but it still looks bad to me. I thought enough speculation was going on I had better say something even if it isn't right. Any comments would be appreciated,
Thank you
Jim

I'm not sure I was going to get e-screwed but what I was buying Earl was not able to sell. I don't think he was aware of it or not. I have told Earl, who at the time of this post is unwilling to give me any concessions, I am backing out. I belive if I can get some interested moderators, I will just start up new, as I have a server. I belive there is enough room for all to live and be sucessful, as long as they keep clean, my email is available if any are interested.
Take Care All and I will be around.
If you are interested in what I do see www.theshipstore.com

Respectfully,
Jim
