Did you pass on the NMFBM?

I cancelled on an LE......the mind was willing.....the wallet was weak....

Edit to say....caved in to a last minute order for the CG in UG/Black Micarta.....lets hope it is a lucky knife....the wallet needs a break!

I passed momentarily. I figured I would give in but the protracted move of this last year has left funds tight. Still... I knew I would succumb.

But, only having two full days off in August, I missed when it was pulled.

What's that?

Oh, yeah!

NO REGRETS.

I think alot of people passed involuntarily !!! it was a short window for such an awesome knife!!!

I can't wait!! :eek::D

NOT only no but heck no!

Le's and CG's=10

a perfect 10!

THis is the Chopper, and if you knew which #'s you'd shi ite!

Being new to Busse I don't have a sense as to how long they are typically available for, but the NMFBM was only up for a couple of weeks, right? I guess this is how a hard to find collector's item comes to be. I almost passed on this, but at the last minute, just and hour or two before Jerry yanked it from the store I ponied up for the LE. Only I'm not in it for the resale down the road, it's going to be my new trail knife.

Now the comes the hard part... the wait... Amy at Customer Service emailed me and said I could expect a wait of 8 to 10 weeks. Also, I put in an order for a Dundee sheath rig with Armoralleather, and the wait on that is 8 to 10 months.

I'm sure the NMFBM LE and sheath will be worth the wait. :D

The NMFBM offering was really short at 2 weeks.. in comparison the FBM was up for around 5 months!!! The ASH LE was close to 8 !

I expect the NMFBM to become a hardcore collector item ... good call on snagging an LE in the finals hours!!!:thumbup:

You guys who passed on this are fools. The NMFBM will be THE Busse for some time to come. I had to score one, even though there's no way I can justify paying for it. Fools I tell you, fools!

You think the people whining about SFNOs are bad. Just wait a couple years. I think Jerry really threw collectors a bone with this one. I'm glad I wasn't out of town!

The ultimate of INFI! 17 1/2" and 1/4"+ thick. A very nice combination. Not too thick to get wedged when chopping/splitting, but a little longer for going through some thick lumber. Only a few ounces heavier than a FFFBM. It will be a nice weight to swing. Ball bearing finish and the finest No-Hot-Spot handle ever produced. No excuse for not having a shelter built or fire wood ready or any other survival need. Damn, this is a no-brainer! All you will need is this and a smaller 5" blade in your pack.

Thanks to Loon for the "last minute-better grab one now" tip!

Oh, and one more thing..... ONE-TIME-OFFER-ONLY!!!!

I was soooo close to calling the shop and canceling my order for 2 CGs due to no $ but I just can't.
This is one I need to handle. Now I need to scrounge out this cash. Figured I would kick myself in the a$$ if I decided to pass.

I'm used to HI blades, 20" siru for light work and an 18" ang khola for heavy work, both at 1/2" thick - so the idea that the nmfbm not being a real world use type knife seems weird to me.

That's a major head-scratcher for me, too--weighs less than a modest-size khuk and not even as long as a standard short (12") machete. Nowhere near the blade length of an AK, which I see many here use as a chopper/splitter on wood.

Any knife with more than a 7" blade can be awkward for belt carry, but when it comes to dedicated choppers, how could this not be the preferred big Busse to carry in a vehicle, or pack on a horse/ATV, or even strapped to a backpack?

Got mine.

I couldn't say no. Had to buy a CG. I love the Big Busse's. Like the FFBM, not so much the standard FBM. Like my AK, even though I haven't gotten to give it a proper work out yet. I'm gonna have to buy a FFBM to help me make it through the next 8-10 weeks:D

I bought an LE just so I could get my first Dundee rig.

DWAYYYNNNNEEE!!!!!!! :D

Well, it ain't no AK.

Got two for sheath making ;)don't tell Mrs. Brown I only need one

As I posted earlier I passed but I got some substitute...

But maybe I'll try to get an NMFBM off the exchange if I warm up to the nice pics everybody will be posting in the future

In the meantime the HI 20" Ang Khola will have to do:D:D
