Did your Traditional knife get a workout today? -Part II

^^^ That looks pretty tasty! Cutting up some good food has to be one of the most satisfying knife chores there is.

I used the awl on my Pioneer to pry the back of the case off this Timex today. It may take a licking, but a dead battery definitely stops the ticking.:D

It's good to have it back in working order again after leaving it sit in a drawer for quite a few years now. I had forgotten how nice the Indiglo feature is at night compared to just having luminous hands on my automatic watch.

Had to replace a headlight socket. Buck 301 Sheepsfoot blade got the honors of trimming the insulation.

Used my coyote to cut up an apple for myself and my girl. And yesterday i cut up rolls, then used the knife to spread pb&j

I got in a rush this morning and rolled my rolls too loose and made my sauce too thick. Dipping didn't work so I had to use my knife.

This is mostly not about the knife. I had, of course, a puukko with me last weekend when we went to a place on the countryside where we have spent time with friends. A couple we know is building a summer cottage for a woman who is using a wheelchair. The cottage will be built so that she can move freely, with ramps all around for a wheelchair, kitchen built so that everything is on the right height and so on. She is in her late 20's now, she got paralyzed in a accident when she was about 17. We were there to help building.

I used the knife quite a lot, opening all kinds of packages and and cutting plastic sheets. There were about 10 people, mostly relatives and friends. There were two professional construction workers who are friends of this woman's sister. They came without expecting pay, just wanted to help. Brought their own tools too.

A nice day. It was remarkable to see how willing people are to help when the cause is good. The cottage will be ready next summer, now the goal is to get the floors, windows and doors in place so it will winter without damages.

I finally had enough free time to start my knife display today. The Puukko is such a wonderful knife.

Found a great piece of furniture on the street, but it had this strange vinyl sticker on it.

Not particularly grueling for it, but it did get used in bundling brush. It's been in a bucket in the garage for a year- I found it while looking for something else.

Was used to do everything you can imagine needing a knife for in the un-packing, building and installing this overnight last night

So I guess you could say my trusted friend saved Christmas!

The Buck that saved Christmas! Very cool! You'll have to name that knife Rudolph!

Great use of your new knife, Brett! Looks good in action!

I can't decide though, were you cutting down cardboard for recycling, or testing the edge on your new knife? Looks like it could've been some of both. LOL

I remember a while back your wife was trying to decide on a traditional pattern. Did you ever decide? Any pics of her knife in action?
