Difference between a $100 knife and a $500 knife?

The main difference between a $100 knife and a $500 knife is $400. As for useability, I doubt there would be little, if any, difference. Heck, some of the best performing knives cost well under $20. (Opinel, for example.)

I agree with you, to make task which knives are designed to do you can accomplish pretty much same way with 20 bucks knife as with that, costing 1 k..... IMO,,,if you need high quality user blade that will do the task and will last lifetime for you, you do not need to invest into knife more than 50-100bucks,,,,,, anything else over this price is just passion,snobbery or business.Simple as that
