Dinged for the ASH-2

Got mine in today, I think the Ash-1 is going to turn out to be a very underrated knife-Love it
 
Just opened the box and handled the Ash 2. This blade is awesome! Well balanced and great blade geometry. There is nothing I don't like about it. Only regret..I should have bought two.
 
Mine showed up Monday, but I was busy all week.
I knew I would only be keeping the ASH-2 or my Skinny ASH-1, which ever I liked better.
The ASH-2 won the keeper slot, so Friday gave me a chance to make it mine with a stripetition finish & standard bruiser scale swap.
This was how it looked before I got started on my stripetition finish project.

This is how it wound up when I called it a night, etched logo, stripped, sanded decarb off, convexed edge, & ditch the magnum handles.
I still have to sand the handles for finishing touches and buff the blade better, but man does it feel nice! :)

I just received my two black blade/black g10 ASH2's and it is everything I hoped it would be. This feels like the knife I went through so many purchases; thousands of dollars to find. Very nicely balanced, perfect weight and amazing ergonomics. I will get one of these out for some play time later and post some pics. If nobody else does it, I am going to start a ASH2 use thread to hopefully draw some more photos and impressions for the record :thumbup:

Edited to add: And AZTimT, great job on that strip/sand on your ASH2. I plan on doing that as well.

Hot DANG! That is sweet looking sir. I don't plan on stripping mine but that is beautiful. I somehow managed to wake up with another glass of bourbon at hand but I hope to get a sheath worked up for mine this weekend.
 
I literally cut open my box and went outside and started breaking schtuff with it. My other Busse related blades in that range are a SYKCO 911, 1111, and 1311. I need to get a weekend away from the world to let them work out their differences.
 
Just finished the sheath for my ASH2 today. Nothing says Happy Valentine's Day like a new sheath for a new steel heart. Right?
