Disappointed

lol, that would be good times. the east coast gets the custom shop variants of currentish blades, and we here on the west get a full spectrum of past combat grade models. I'm sure the east coast guys would complain about us getting our pick of war boars, sfno's, active duties, skeleton keys, ak47's, fsh, NICKs, fbm's and force ones, all at combat grade low prices.

Well, I won't complain, LVC.

But can I drool a bit??

Sorry to hear this guys, but I suspected as much would happen. While I enjoyed Blade West last year, it was rather small and Busse was heavily represented with Custom Shop work. Meeting everyone and visiting while checking out blades and drinking beer was great. I think that one thing that is important here is that the Eastern folks seem to like and purchase Customs much more. Out here in the West, we seem to prefer CGs and more fundamental designs. I do believe if Jerry and crew came out this way, many of us would be more likely to represent. Vegas is a stretch for me, but if I knew in advance (6 mos. - 1 year) I would plan and save. As far as the knives go, I think we'll see the trend change as HOG participation grows at bigger shows that warrant the shipping and personality (Which skunk actually has plenty of both).

And too, it is tough for a business owner to guage with much accuracy what a first time show will do.

There was no historical data of what sells, what doesn't, traffic/volume of people, etc.

I know even with the "regular" shows I do, what models/sizes sell at one don't always sell at the next, and sometimes not for several more shows.

If I take large, people want smaller, I take smaller, people want mid-sized, I take mid-sized, people want BOTH larger and smaller.

I never ever brought customs because there was little to no market for them, exp with first time buyers. Now markets have evolved, and custom shop stuff sells.

Heck, I had months, if not over a year where I hauled Flying Badgers, Public Defenders, NOe's, original Howling Rats, Camp Tramps, and others around because people wanted other different models.

The Know Creek market has been pretty well mapped over a few years. Let Jerry, Skunk, and crew digest and ponder what the show dynamics were, and give them a shot next time.

Man, tough crowd here....

:eek::eek: ...Still got them???? I think I know a way to help you get rid of those pesky things!!! ;) LOL

he isn't your brother anymore. you realize that, right?

Yeah..he just didn't get it...he thinks his gerber pocket knife he bought at Wally world is a great knife!! Like I said..CHOKE HIM!!!

Im happy to see all the good reactions in this thread. Maybe at Blade West it will be different. I only bought two Busses in Eugene, would have liked to buy more but oh well. Ill have another chance at Blade in 6 weeks thats if I can see past the line of Hogs guarding the table.

You should take his knife and baton it in half. Maybe that will convince him next time.

And as far as this thread goes...I have yet to travel to a show but am planning on Blade West this year. And like many of the other of the Westcoasters I would want to see COMBAT GRADES more so than customs.

Jerry come out West for the Blade West show and bring all the CGs you can bring and I promise us West coast HOGS will make it worthwhile. Ill even bring the Blue Label. :D:thumbup:
