Sigma disassembled for routine maintenance. Surprised to find ball bearings and not rollers.

Did you jewel the liners? They look great. Beautiful knife, love Kens designs.

Thanks for the reply. I love seeing Ken’s custom work. If I hadn’t spent 20 minutes shooting the breeze with Uncle Ethan at Blade ‘21, I would say meeting Ken was the highlight of the show.Nope, came that way...old school custom touchBushing pivot and detent ramp too

Man, those original scales literally look like a turd or a walkway pattern. The RC scales are a huge improvement, the overtravel micarta is a nice touch. I’m considering getting some deka scales from them. Finally replaced the hideous modified stock scale on my Southard![]()

The bearings were swapped out a while back with a set from USA knife maker to replace the seized up stockers that wouldn't flip at all

The RC Bladeworks scale came with matching overtravel stop which looks good with the MXG clip

You for sure improved it. Looks great!Picked up that knife on the exchange some time ago and IIRC the seller said it was a rock pattern, which is probably not the best choice for brown G10! Definitely resembled a log o

. I did get a good deal on the knife so i was able to overlook the monstrosity for a while but it actually came seized up and wouldn’t flip as I mentioned above, along with an equally hideous gold deep carry clip that stuck way up off the handle and was overly thick. The “bones” of the knife were in good shape though so I didn’t mind doing a little work.
Not sure who thought those mods looked good lol but I'm happy with how it turned out in the end and didn't spend a lot on the fixes…err..mods, so it was still less than a new Southard when they were available.
As far as the RC Bladeworks scale, this is my first time using them and can recommend. They fit nicely as well as look and feel good, and would be a nice addition to a Hogue Deka.
Please tell me more about the bearings & washers. how do they work? Which/what from USA Knifemaker? The bearings were swapped out a while back with a set from USA knife maker to replace the seized up stockers that wouldn't flip at all

Thanks.Nothing fancy just some drop in steel bearings and the stock washers were reused as the washers that came with the new bearings were much thicker but they were a significant improvement and only a few bucks. Im sure some new washers would help more. FYI i used the exact same bearings in my Domino as well. They weren't an exact perfect match (ID or OD was off i forget which) but I've been running them for 3.5 years without any issues. See the pic for specifics.
