Disccusion: Beckerhead BK-10 Special (was: Don't you just HATE it when ...)

Can't wait till they release the Beckerhead limited edition BK1's with unobtanium blades.

I dunno. At 20 million a kilo. That would make each blade worth $13 706 000 per blade for just the metal alone. They might as well make bk2s with a measly $8 316 000 per blade. MUCH more affordable that way. :)

well, as it turns out, they're only going to release 50 of those, and i've already bought 25. you know, insider discount. INFI steel too. you'd have liked them :)

:D j/k

while it could happen, that's the last blade i imagine would get special treatments on. Machax way before THAT. Campanion as well.

Now that you bring it up, a Campanion in some kind of stainless would be hot. But then again I have that BK77 and I'm not on the coast or a deep sea fisherman. I'd prolly still buy one though.

they already did the stainless model :) early CinCin era, hard chrome finish. awesome :>

one could any given blade and send it out for a modern coating treatment, right? titantium nitride might be nice. pretty much rust free. just wipe the edge on your enemy now and then.

i still keep thinking it would be sick to laser cut a BK77 into a BK10 :)

looks like 35 signups. not bad, but not spectacular, eh? get with it.

we want to terrify the people coming after that we will sell put :P please your gods!

I'd sign up if you'd let me. Hell I'd sign up and give you my first born son. :D

Seriously though, if you don't get turn out like you were hoping, any possibility with letting some of us wishful thinkers in on an early application? Or in best case scenario the discount price?

Truth be told, when I saw the forum knife sticky a couple hours after you'd posted it, I was thinking thats what the sticky was about. S30V BK10 that would be cool. Who would you trust to get it right though?

I'm glad it is what it is. I wouldn't have been able to afford a knife from S30V, and those Camillus blanks give the knife this touch of mystery, of a long forgotten but glorious era... If it's the steel that CS uses it's plenty strong and I trust in Toooj's HT.

If the Brute ever does return. I'll be wanting one. I've been singing it's praises for a long time. You guys kept telling me they would never be made again. I'm pleased to hear it might be. What's old is new again. Kinda like Star Trek Huh,

yup. good stuff that steel. good enough for "carbon v" knives which are beloved... and the 1095 cv stuff is basically the same stuff as far as i'm concerned, must MOSTLY we got Toooj's heat treat protocols. oh yeah.

i don't think we'll be seeing exotic steels for a bit, but it COULD happen. it's a matter of interest and all that. plus time. so much time.

it may take longer, but they'll do it right. it WASN'T going to happen, for reals, but well, popularity, requests, biznez, has a way of changing minds eventually.

many fun changes and things coming i'm sure. hopefully they'll tell US rather than just leaking it out.

good times

That's Avatar unobtanium. I'm talking "The Core" unobtanium. Its better for bushcrafting then that pandoran overpriced stuff (like comparing 1095crovan to S30V) And I meant to say "BK2".

I agree. I think it's cool that it's a Camillus blank, and the HT is by KABAR. A one of a kind, for sure.

Shipping costs are the real killer anyway. That's how they make their money :D

Just an update. I talked to Kabar today, 1 BK10 each for the the BH's at the adjusted price, but once they go public, you can buy as many as you want. Just a heads up.

Oh, and thanks again, ya'll, for making this such a great place.

Thanks for the heads up. I wish I could afford more than 1, but I'm quite satisfied I'll be getting a BK10 none the less. Have always admired this blade.
