Disccusion: Beckerhead BK-10 Special (was: Don't you just HATE it when ...)

Awesome. So they're original Becker blade blanks? That's cool.
Will they be able to engrave our #'s on them?
Can't wait to get one!

No, that would push the cost up too far to make it a deal. But, you can engrave your own.:D

mmmmmmm..............
may need to be greedy & order 2 if that's allowed.

Is it a "I'll take it" kinda' thing like the sales forums or how do we put orders in ?

Sorry, no engraving - but feel free to have that guy at your local mall do it :)

In fact, I ENCOURAGE you all to engrave your numbers. That way it's truly yours. Mind, you're free to flip them, just don't be too predatory ;)

Very nice indeed, the BK10 will be mine ASAP
How does the Steel 0170-6 compare to the 1095?

Tuesdays... That's all I can say... Wait... make that Wednesdays... No... wait... :D
Edited to add: Thursdays... I'm pretty sure this time. :p

Just don't call Ka-Bar yet. Bladite has been itching to ban someone.

CarbonV is basically 1095CV, Camillus just named it different. Think of it like this, all Camillus did, was cut out the blank for Kabar to finish. That's all.

Make this a success, and you could be looking at a full time addition to the lineup. Perhaps.

it's effectively the same stuff; technically a trifle different, but i don't think anyone could tell from use, eh?

I thought that 0170-6 was their version of O-1. That's what I heard ages ago anyway.

Oh, and I will have my local engraver put my number on it then I'll acid etch it and strip it and make my own scales and a leather sheath for it.

This is going to be awesome.

IIRC, 0170-6 was the technical name for Cold Steel's trademarked Carbon V.
Good stuff -- think about all the Camillus made Beckers currently in use, like the passaround BK6.

there's a canonical post floating around here where someone spells out every last detail. toooj if i recall correctly. i THINK i remembered to link that from the DB/FAQ at some point, but i won't swear to it.

just pretend it's 1095cv. it's not anything else. just plain old Camillus blanks, hand purchases, and carried in a Uhaul after auction by our top guys at KaBar.

in a week, they'll have edges... then a couple guys will spend all their free time assembling these. there might even be an official certificate of provenance to keep y'all happy :)

this is a historical knife. a bridge between eras. when they are gone, that's it. no more blanks. any ones made after this will be 100% KaBar. if they make them.

now, WOW them with your support. 130 BHs assigned, yes? something like that. that means less than 50 will be left for general sale but the price WILL go up to $150 for *everyone*. still a pretty good deal.

there's a catch too, which i'm sure someone will notice sooner or later regarding this deal for BH. it's a good catch. we warned y'all. in progress stragglers excepted.

now. drool!
