Just as difficult to follow ... as anything I've seen. I went to their Tables, and I think:

Priority Mail International Medium Flat Rate Box (FRB-1) $27.95 $45.50 11" x 8-1/2" x 5-1/2"

That last number is "all other countries but Canada/Mexico." Seems steep to me. The small flat rate box was $13.95. So, I'd imagine if he's clever he can get 'er done with a non flat-rate box for around $25 - $30 plus insurance cost.

Does that help?

I'm freakin' out, MAN!

so, just email m00s3 MAN!. i imagine that the kind folx at KaBar can get him your knife one way or anotehr, and then he'll ship it, and present you with a bill, eh? you then pay him, or face evil pressures.

he's personally guaranteed you're going to get your knife, but not when. take a deep breath! IN !!!!!!!!! OUT !!!!!!!! okay, now hold it !!!!!! by the time you wake up, you might have new information ;) if not, go watch some porn or something :)

Command decision.
Just send me maethor's knife and I'll use it for a while. :D
I'll give it to him when he flies over for Blade 2012. :p

Carry on with your respective freak outs.

All things considered, that's probably faster AND cheaper for him :)

Ok, international buyers, I have the quotes for shipping, USPS and UPS. UPS is quite proud of the services they offer.

Please contact me, I have quotes for Denmark, Germany, Australia, and Canada. If you do not fall under one of those countries, let me know ASAP so I can get quotes for your country of origin. I will email you a grand total that you will send to me via paypal, along with the address, EXACTLY as it need to be for the shipping address. Once the money hits my account, your knife will ship.

I do want to say, I apologize for the delay in this. Tonight is my anniversary, and I will be spending it with a very attractive lady. I hope my wife doesn't find out. :D

Naw, seriously, I won't be on much if any tonight, so, plan on all this taking place tomorrow.

Moose

Does anyone know if any of these has shipped out yet? Not freaking out, just curious.

hey Moosez45,

Happy Anniversary.. !!!!!

in hindsight we (male persuasion) sometimes take things for granted, and sometimes its those little things that matter to the missus..

Live it up .. brother........................

take care,

rob

Admit it. You're freaking out.

Nah, not freaking out at all. But, I ordered Friday, and got a call today from them to get my credit card number. They missed it by one digit. I was told it would ship out by the end of the week. Oh well, such is life...

Thanks for the mail moose. Wow, UPS shipping IS steep. We're talking just a little bit less than the knife itself here. I'll have to think about this for a while.

Isn't USPS Priority (or maybe Express) International around $30 US? That may not cover tracking and or insurance though.

I just had a guy contact me about doing an international sale. Yeah, he says, it's usually only about $20 to ship it to South Africa.
So I look it up. Not so, I says. For a knife this expensive, I need to track and insure, and shipping alone (with a track/ship option) starts at $27. Insurance and tracking are going to be extra.
Also, I pointed out that I would have to list the customs value the same as the insurance value to cover my own behind as a seller. Cricket noises ensued...
Then out of the blue a while later, he asks if I can ship to a friend in the U.S., who will relay it on.
Sure, I says. If the friend wants to pay for it. If there are any issues, I'll need to show PayPal that I sold and shipped it to the ACTUAL buyer--not to some address out of thin air. Crickets again...
If it were a $100 or less knife, I might do it. But we're talking about a $350 Busse. Sorry. Not taking chances with my money.

The price for s&h that moose told me is $90, tracked and insured. I'll just have to think about it. It's UPS, not USPS. UPS is the more expensive, tracked&insured thing, USPS is cheaper and untrackable. The last knife that I received through USPS was $18,50 or so for uninsured, untracked shipping, though.

maethor, if UPS from Olean is just too crazy high, I can relay, but at your own risk.
Goodness alive, the USPS website is a Byzantine maze of a mess. Best I can tell...

Express International (guessing 2 pounds) to Germany (country code 16) looks like $36.39.
http://www.usps.com/prices/express-mail-international-prices.htm#cz

Same thing for Priority Mail International looks like $32.20.
http://www.usps.com/prices/priority-mail-international-prices.htm

Of course, packaged weight could be a little more, and you'd have to pay the $8 US to get it to me.
AND... that's with no additional tracking or insurance. Not sure if any is folded into either of the options above.

First Class International only appears to cover up to small packets. The BK-10 would not qualify as a small packet, methinks.

I've sold internationally before, but I usually just put "Lower 48 Only" in my sale ads.
They make the rates and fees too variable, and it's hard to find options with tracking and insurance that folks are willing to pay for.

At any rate, maethor, if you want to pay Ka-Bar to ship to me, fine. They have my address on file.
I can ship whatever option you want, and you can reimburse me. Don't stick me with international PayPal fees though! ;)

ETA: I'm perfectly willing to walk into the PO and ask, "what's the cheapest way to get this camp tool to Germany?"
They might send it by pack mule, and you'd have to assume all risk. But we can go that route! :)
