Disccusion: Beckerhead BK-10 Special (was: Don't you just HATE it when ...)

KaBar seems to have gone home for the day. BH pricing is over. Congrats to those who were able to take advantage.

We'll have to plot another special knife sometime again... just over 60 sales wasn't bad, eh?

I know its been said over and over again, but I'm gonna say it again... Thank you to all that were involved in allowing us Beckerheads to have first shot at these knives. I received mine yesterday and got to look at it for approx. 30 seconds...other than a strange rattle in the handle.... I'm gonna truely enjoy using the heck out of it.

PS...Were's my tweener, I'm freakn' out!
 
My BK-10 just showed up with bells & whistles. Earlier than I was expecting it and that's very good. Canada Customs out did itself. :)
The micarta scales are in the mineral oil bath and if everything goes right the Crewman is gonna take his first hike in BC, tomorrow.
First impressions: good balance, useful size, nice grinds. I like the blade, but personally I prefer the Ka-Bar grivory scales to the Camillus and the same goes for the sheath, as well.
 
So, I was thinking today, as an Air Traffic Controller, I am considered an aviation crewman... this is the perfect knife!!!!
 
in just a few short hours... well, around 19 or so... KaBar will get a flood of callers. one hopes :> large chunks of inventory will get sold to st^H^H dealers. they aren't getting a price break on these either, so you can imagine that many resales will occur at higher prices.

still, with 60 odd BH sales, there will be 120 left for general consumption... i can't imagine that someone is going to drop $18k on one purchase :> so there should be plenty of opps for individuals who want one, or a few.

call early. call often. get your order IN. it'll happen with the luck of the Noodly one. be persistent. while you're at it, order some bling :> split that shipping!

kudos for everyone who (was able to) take advantage of the BH madness during the two week selling phase for BHers. commiserations for those who wanted to, but couldn't - there will be more events, and chances, i'm sure down the road.

How long did it take buddy? Mine shipped out on Tuesday, I'm hoping it'll be here sometime this week.
 
Been out of town, so all I can do so far is fondle mine. But y'know, the more that I do the more I'm thinking I'm not going to do any mods but rather keep this as the Beckerhead BK10 Special Edition as-is.

I agree, I'm gonna leave it "as is" also. I haven't had a chance to get out and beat it up but it sure feels good in the hand. I like the thumb ramp...I think. ;)
 
Woooo-hoooo! Just placed my order! Got disconnected the first time I called (my cell phone's fault, I think, not Ka-
Bar's), the lady on the phone was super nice! I'm waaaaaay too freaking excited! wish I could have afforded to order 2 (one user, one safe queen), but
alas, funds are a bit tight. Never really been much of a safe queen guy anyways, all my blades are users. This will be the most special/limited blade I own so far though. did i mention I'm sooooo freaking excited!!!??!!!:D

and they did us a solid, now they get to make money with the leavings :) more money means more money for Mr Ethan too ;)

they ARE a business, and they want those GONE :) taking up storage.
