Just wondering if anyone has any experiences with this place. The prices are BY FAR the best that I can find on the net. I'm either going to be purchasing a Emerson Commander or a Benchmade 910 Stryker.

Just wondered about the service and how the prices are so drastically cheap compared to other places. This may sound stupid, but the knives aren't used are they?

Nope, the knives they sell aren't used. They're all brand new. I believe Brian goes for volume sales, rather than profit margin. That's how he can compete with the rest.

I can call it a "chinese method" of doing business.

By all means, buy from him. He's a trustworthy and reliable guy.

I've thought for a while now that Discount Knives should put up some sort of, "yes, we are for real," link to somewhere like this. It seems like every couple of months a new "are they for real?" posting pops up.

They are for real, have good prices and good service. Had to laugh at the "used" knife question!!!!!

Happy New Year,

Hey Rob,

I purchased a knife from them, and they had it to me about as fast as would be possible. It turned out that the knife was of mediocre design, so I sent it back and asked that they credit the purchase price towards another brand of knife. They did do immediately, and I had my new knife a week later. I would certainly have no qualms about ordering from them again.

I`ve dealt with them and they are great. Just don`t try calling them on the phone because the line is busy,I mean always busy.

Another vote for him...have used him regularly for at least a year and nothing but good service. Very forthcoming--ordered two BMs from him at the first of December (gifts). Ends up they were out of stock (my fault; procrastinated and let it get too near Christmas) and Brian emailed back the NEXT day giving me a sitrep. I've dealt with people who, once they have my credit card #, would just as soon let me rot, rather than risk losing a sale. He gave the option of canceling or keeping the order going, upfront. Sidebar: ordered a Boker Omega tanto folder from him today.

I have dealt with discount knives many times and everytime was a very positive experience. One time I can remember was when I ordered a William Henry 12 Oak Burl. It came in the mail and QC on the blade was disappointing (there was a very noticable hole). I contacted Brian (amazing I got through -- the line is always busy), he did everything imaginable to resolve the issue including sending me two additional WH knives to choose from - I return the unwanted one.

I also documented to him conversations and mail messages that I had with Matt Conable directly about QC issues on his knives, he interveened and ended up closing his account with WH because of treatment we received. Brian is undoubtedly a standup guy, a hard worker and dedicated to keeping my business. I can only say that if he treated me this way, I am convinced that he would treat you the same. Since then I have purchased several additional knives from him and each order has been filled with quality product without a hitch. My hats off to Brian from Discount Knives!! I am definately a happy customer.

Hello Bob,

Can you elaborate on the unsatisfactory experience you had with William Henry knives? You mention quality control issues (it happens to every co.), but also suggest poor customer relations. I'd particularly be interested in the latter.

Am I misreading? Like many others here, I've been eyeing the WH folders for a while, and would like to be as informed as possible about their products AND service. Any insight would be great.

Thanks and regards,

Brian was one of the first internet knife purchases I made on knives. When I finally decided to go into business myself, Brian actually gave me a few places to call to get set up myself. I have to admire a guy who is willing to help another person get started in the same business.

I have dealt with Brian several times, and have received excellent service everytime. Even at X-Mas I placed an order and the website said it wouldn't ship until after the holiday rush slowed down. I was ok with the wait and the package was still at my door the same week. Great to deal with.
And don't forget they will beat any valid internet price by 10%, now thats a deal.

I want a plain edge Starmate.
Nobody has them right now.
Brian knows I want one and will email me when his stock arrives.
His price will be very competitive.
This I am certain of. Accordingly, I'm through shopping for this item.
It's not so important that I can get him on the telephone. The fact that he will think of me and notify me when the knife I want becomes available is.
I like the way he does business.
Bill
