discussing Strider?

I understand the Strider forum is closed here and read the announcement post about why. Just curious is discussing their knives looked down now anywhere on BF? :confused: I see them often getting sold/traded but not seeing discussion pictures etc.
 
Discussion here is just fine.
 
Discussion is fine, but be aware that it is a very divisive topic. Just try and take the extreme negativity here and mix it with the fanboyism over at the USN and somewhere in the middle you can get a realistic idea about them.

I'll start some discussion: has anyone had any luck contacting Josh, the customer service rep over at SKI? I have emailed him twice and direct messaged him on IG, with no response at all.
 
I love the SnG. It's one of the finest folder designs ever.
I always had great CS from Josh and Strider Knives.

You won't find many people on here who say good things about Strider knives. It's understandable why, it's a company owned by a shady character with very questionable QC and CS.
 
The SmF CC Stone Washed is one of my all time favorite knives. :)
 
I have had excellent experiences with Strider customer service. They are well-built knives, although I currently don't own any. Maybe I need to change that ...

I have owned many Striders; all were great. I've owned and enjoyed at least twenty in four different models: SMF, Sng, PT's and SJ-75's. Their customer service is superb...even though emails are not responded to as quickly as we seem appropriate. I have had trashed knives re-bladed and made as new and returned to me for no cost.
John, this is a KNIFE forum...NOT a personal grievance arena. I realize that you are new here and welcome to post YOUR ideas. But, Whine & Cheese forum would love you. No flames, sir, but please leave the personal attacks out of the discussion.

"Shady characters" is a perfectly acceptable, and modest mind you, way to describe Liars and Cheats, in which their guilt has been established. Additionally, there have been plenty of BF threads with members showing pictures of poor QC and sharing their personal experiences of poor CS. You mentioned them not responding to emails in a timely manner, I would say that's a perfect example of poor CS. Seems like he's merely stating well documented facts, and not proclaiming a personal grievance.

Just because you do not share his opinion does not mean he's not entitled to it.

These threads seem to spiral out of control fast, but the OP has asked a legitimate question. Sharing an opinion, whether positive or negative is one thing, not agreeing and starting a flame war is another, civility is key.

I've got a PD-1 SMF and a PT CC and they're both awesome. Would buy more but don't have the funds. So take that as you will.
 
Have had just about every make and model of knife but striders have eluded me, maybe some day!

Your best bet is to get on the USN and try there. You should have some pretty good results.

As for their knives, I have an SnG and a GG SMF. love them both.

I dunno, I never had any issues contacting Mick, Duane or Josh when I needed to over the years.
 
Thanks for all the feedback! My first Strider is on the way, thats why I started this thread. I didn't know this history of service/company issues before purchasing, only after poking around here looking for the missing page. My excitement is dampened somewhat...but still stoked for this orange SnG!
