Nope not saying that at all partner but I can't have the good folks here believe otherwise. As far as the pitting or wear in the micarta I can't explain it, certainly stumped on that one as the knife and all accesories (sheath/papers, etc) were kept in the original box inside a footlocker, it was taken out on a couple occasions to look at and that was it other than some pics and one recent just before the trade which unfortunately was taken on the opposite side of the handle. I've spoke to Ray (Ray Ennis) of Entrek Knives on a couple occasions and have great report as both of us are former military (Ray's former AF and I'm retired Army). I was more than happy to send outreach to Ray about swapping the scales on the Cobra as it certainly was not from use or attempted scale removal (hell I've never tried to do any of that type of work as I don't have the experience or tools to finish the job afterwards as I would imagine the screws are set with some sort of adhesive/epoxy anyways but I could be wrong). When the Entrek Cobra went back into the sheath and into the box it had no tip exposed out of the sheath where his picture after he received appeared as if someone forced it to do so. As far as the Mission MPK (Ti) is concerned it was wrapped in very thick bubble wrap within tightly packed newspaper with no possibility of shifting, I cannot see how the back of the sheath behind the handle could have broken unless someone again forced something or the box was tampered or thrashed by the post office. For those out there who I've traded with know the manner in which I pack knives and other items. I have offered assistance through both Ray of Entrek and the post office to start a claim to take care of the broken sheath as all I would need to get from Mission is a statement/invoice for what a MPK Sheath would cost. In the meantime I was asked about wear on the Cobra due to some sort of scuffing or wear which the only spot was on one side of the knife where the high grind line rubbed a little on the black kydex sheath and was also asked after the fact if the MPK was battoned with, I did state that it obviously had some light use but certainly had no signs of battoning and even sent him a pic of the spine after the claim to show there was no battoning or a dent in the spine as he claimed. I know this is his 1st trade and maybe feeling a bit of "trader remorse" but have attempted to help him. I really didn't want to have to address all of this but felt compelled to do so and will probably leave this thread at that. I also understand that the Mods may need to move this thread due to the nature of this posting, the last email I sent to V.O.T.F. was to see if Ray was taking care of the both the sheath and scales and was told yes, that should take care of the Cobra and I will go one step further since I didn't get a reply about the shipping cost but I will pay him his shipping cost to Ray, bottom line this was an older styled kydex sheath with the fixed belt loop and he should end up getting the newer styled belt clip kydex sheath which is certainly more versatile than the last. The MPK sheath can be fixed through the post office with an invoice from Mission and claimed through the PO. Although this thread may have started out with the right intent I didn't like where it was going. I can also address anyone's individual questions by e-mail or phone if need be as well, if I could I would attach all the pics I sent of the knives and sheaths in question but can certainly send them out via e-mail if necessary.
