Sure many know this but HACCP rules exist for color coding knife handles for certain uses. May very well be that or the person may be following the Kosher rules of red for meat. Offer different red material than acrylic.

Just to report back, I haven’t been on in a bit as I required spinal surgery which occurred 17 days ago and getting back into the swing of things now.

My customer ended up allowing me more time for completion as it was a gift he was bringing to a couple, and the date ended up getting pushed. So I showed him the Canadian flag scales that Stacey was nice enough to forward the contact. He really wanted the Canadian flag as these people were from out of country and he wanted to gift them something that was “Canadian” looking. I had to push him for a few bucks more as this material was more costly but after moaning he agreed! So it ended up as this:



I’d like to say thanks again Stacey, I’ve ordered a number of scales from this source they make a decent product!

No grinding into tang holes?? If your talking about the two extra shiny parts on the inside of the handle, that’s just the way the light was hitting it. I didn’t take pictures in a proper set up, I phone under kitchen pot lights lol

Yeah, I was talking about the dark spots on the inside of the handle, just about in line with the pins. Looked like it might be a reflection, but it was hard to tell.

I just recently refused to do a knife because the customer wanted me to copy someone else's knife. I told them if they want that knife, they should buy it from them. If there is some ELEMENT of that knife that they particularly like and want something similar from me, I'd be happy to explore that as an option.

Worked out as they ended up ordering two more knives from me.
