Do I want an active duty or a warden?

Based on your analysis, there may only be one knife for him...

Too bad I own it! :D

;)

WOW, that's a nice knife, I don't have that one yet....
I didn't know you can get that handle on that knife... I'm going to be him to the punch and get that for myself first...

No kidding. I love and want that HACKtive Duty!

230, if you want a fatty, get a GW because the AD fatties are atleast twice as much, but the AD ergos are twice as good IMO...

Yes, that the Mil version was much more readily available.

OT, but my impression was that the MilGanza AD release hurt the resale value of the original HD.

Well, to a point the Miliganza AD's made the thicker AD more readily available, but there are differences between the two to make them different enough for the collector to tell one from the other. Talon hole size and grind line depth being the easiest to see But you really have to have them side by side. iirc, the colors were different as well? I think?

That HACK AD is sweet!

I EDC the GW all the time.

I have big hands. 2xl gloves are tight on my hands. I find that the GW works just fine for EDC for me. If I was out in the woods, doing a lot of whittling, then I would take something else. That slightly smaller handle than the AD makes for a little less traction and leverage for longer cutting chores.

I have used the GW to help butcher an elk (also pressed into use were a CG ash1, and a modded SS).

I like the feel of the AD in the hand better, just love the look overall.

But I have seen what you do to knives when there is no adult supervision around. I think the if you are really thinking thick, then the GW will be the cheaper route.

I think the AD's are plenty thick for me, but then again. .22 is not thick enough for some (hint hint.......the horror.........the horror!)

Well, 230grains isn't new to Busse, he knows them well. He knows how big his hand is and which one would fit his hands better. Busse comes in all sizes and thickness for a reason, everyone likes something different. Only 230grains knows what his daily use for a Busse knife is. I mean, I know someone that carries and uses a NMFBM LE the most. He does demolition for construction so a Bear Cub wouldn't do him much use... A different knife for every use. So if he is going to go hunting and skin animals a lot, he may like the .22" Hack with the satin blade because that choil will feel great but he may not want something that thick, and may want a slicer so may want to go with a BAD or .14" GW. But he said that he might break it in half or may go a lot easier on it. Yes, the .27" GW is great but it's not a slicer, and depending on how big his hand is and what he feels is the most comfortable is what is best. He also will take into account how thick he wants his blade. We all know that both the GW and AD came in over 6 different thickness and he knows that too. That's why I said that either one is a good choice... So only he can decide. I can't tell people what to choose, my hands and preferences are different then everyone else's.
So tell me what you want to do with it, what you like, how big your hands are and about how much you want to spend, and I can tell you what is probably the best knife for you.

Based on your analysis... wait... what was your analysis?
Is there a personal opinion in there beyond "to each his own"? :D
