Based on the posts here on the forum, there aren't enough folks worried about the weight make fudging the weight stats worth while.

This is especially so for a difference of 1/2 ounce, which is what you appear to be worried about.
 
Hey I got some gold to sell ya! I'll sell ya 1oz and send ya 1/2 oz I'm sure you won't know the difference
and wrap it in another 1/2 oz of cheese

That made no sense whatsoever. Unless your knife is made out of gold or some other precious commodity that derives value from weight, you're comparing apples to gummy fruit snacks.

But let's go by your rational. Shouldn't you be happy if you go by your way of thinking that your knife is heavier? You got .55 ounces more knife! It should be worth more by your thought process!
 
Perhaps they weigh the knife without the clip attached? After all, most of them advertise it as the weight of the knife. Some guys seem to have a penchant for taking clips off.
