DO NOT DO BUSINESS WITH BOB GLASSMAN

He is probably talking about the knife law forum.

Cougar,

In this case, I do regret starting this thread. Especially since Greg and I worked out our differences already.

It does keep dragging on. And, of course I now realize even though I am serious when I make my statement, many people are not taking me seriously. But, that is ok. I think both Jackyl and Senator just get a big laugh out of this. With regard to the GBU, several of the threads that were started were praising me, not blasting me.. In fact, in my opinion, this thread should be deleted because the issue has been resolved.

But, that is not for me to determine.

You will do what you will with it.

This is my last response on this thread.

I do not feel that threads like this should be moderated or deleted. Everyone gets their chance to state their position. Others who have dealt with people in the past give a sense of the reputation someone has built. Everyone who reads can make up their own mind as to who to believe, who to trust, and who to (and not to) deal with in the future. If, from reading threads like this, it seems that person A always complains about person B, that will be noted and we will remember to ignore person A's comments about person B. If, from reading threads like this, it seems that person C has a lot of problems dealing with other forumites, that should be noted as well. I guess what I want to say here is that these threads should remain open because more information and voices makes them more useful to search through later. Maybe sometimes, it would be a good idea for a moderator to jump in and remind the participants what this forum is for, what kinds of things they should and should not post, but deleting and locking should very rarely if ever be done. I think this forum works quite well the way it is run.

Cougar,
I think you are doing just fine. I think this forum is great just the way it is. Everybody gets a chance to voice their opinion and something read here might better prepare an individual who is getting ready to make a business transaction with someone they don't know.

i too believe cougar to be doing well as a moderator for this forum.as previously stated, people get the chance to see one's true colors.i have defended some people here in the past, but their true character comes out in these posts. you can't protect someone from themselves.

Coug,

You are doing a great job. The title of this forum says it all. If you are too lily white to read some mud slinging, don't come to this forum. This forum is completely different than almost any other. It is a kinder, gentler Whine and Cheese. How many times have you read a bad thread and agreed with the person who posted, but after a lot of hashing, you change your mind? What if it was locked before everything was hashed out? It is in everyone's best interest that threads get played out to the very end. I think that this is the one forum where threads should never be locked. The idiots eventually look like idiots and the cream always rises to the top.
And Mr Glassman...I don't know you from Adam, so I won't comment on your rep, but threads should never be deleted. That definitely makes people think that you are trying to hide something. That statement comes from someone who knows nothing about you and has no axe to grind.
Take what has happened the last month to Fred from Knife Outlet. He has had a couple yahoos come in here and trash him. What happened? They were soundly thrashed by the members of BFC who know that Fred is a stand up guy. This forum cuts both ways. You better have all your duckies in a row and have exhausted all of your options BEFORE you trash someone's rep here, or you will very quickly be handed your shorts. (With new skid marks all over them) If you have a lot of people jumping up to defend you, people see through the bullpuckey, if you don't, well...
