Do you actually read threads when you post?

... people who can't figure out the difference between "your" and "you're" or "their", "there" and "they're",

I'd be able to overlook simple grammatical issues like those Karl mentions above, if the knifemaker's he's referring to would use 'knives' instead of 'knifes'!

Sloppiness in ANY aspect of one's life speaks volumes about the individual - how an individual posts on a web forum is no different.

I was typing my post before seeing your post, Fiddleback... not meant to be a sleight at you!

I'll take it! do you take paypal?

I read a bunch of posts once and it turned out to be that Wheeler guy bitchin about somebody not reading somthing about painting a small giant something or other? I couldnt follow what the hell he was saying!

Ive been on this forem for about 6 years know and most people dont know my first name isnt Adam and your asking if thay read the posts?

Michael - my sons name is Adam - Kanter

Hey, thanks Adam! Did I win that map you're giving away? BTW- Is it a map of any state I choose? Or do you decide?

Ummmm what was the question

Nick, now the heat treat depends if it's a Chevy, Ford or Dodge. Everyone knows you can't make a knife out of an import bumper. I've gotten best results from using heating the blade under halogen lamps for 32.9 hours then quenching in grizzly urine. I can't tell you where I get the grizzly urine for fear of the federales taking my smithy away.

My spelling is grate. My typing sux... is there a typing check function?

Is it true you can get more for a knife quenched in beer? is it dark beer? should it be cold or can I just leave it hot? does it matter if it has been in my trunk for 2 years?

I think I am going to win Nick's bumper knife. Can someone tell me if there is a tutorial on a truck tire sheath for it on the net? I did a search but didn't have any luck.

I've read every post in this thread so far and I agree with everything that's been said that I agree with! :D

I'm a bit of a stickler on grammar and actually using the English language to communicate. The use of "knive" and "knifes" specifically annoy me as well (oddly, Firefox's spell check let "knifes" through...scary). If you're on a knife makers/collectors forum, you obviously care about knives. Learn how to talk about them for Pete's sake!

I'll admit, I posted a number that had been chosen in Rob's thread. I used the "search this thread" function and it apparently didn't work. Bummer, I lose out. I'm not crying about it, much as I'd LOVE a KMG.

P.S. Knick you shud quinch youre bumpir ina slayve. Then it'l kut anuther bumpre!

Well you can't make a blade out of an import bumper unless you're Japanese. THEN and only then will you be able to forge, heat treat, quench, temper and polish said blade. It really helps if you wear a nice kimono during the heat treat and polishing processes. I'd explain it in depth to you but the horns on your helmet would get in the way. Shouldn't you be sailing around looking for someone to sack and pillage?

However, I see posts quite often that make it abundantly clear the poster didn't actually read any of the posts... if even the topic.

So are we all just that impatient?

I would recommend oil paint in the bathrooms and kitchens, because it's so much easier to get water and grease stains off of oil. Latex, however, is fine elsewhere in the house, and is much easier to clean up.

DUDE!! You win :D I have no comeback for that, you zinged me fair and square. :) That's some funny stuff, I don't care who ya are ;)
