Do You Carry A Lighter?

Just wondering how many here carry a lighter but don't smoke. I have carried one of and on (quit smoking about 13 years ago) but still carry one for other purposes. How many carry a lighter on their person (EDC)? I have a couple of Zippos and a butane that pretty good quality but a little too fancy for my liking. Been thinking about purchasing a good "outdoor" type butane to carry when I need it, but feel silly spending money on something I may pull out of my pocket once a month if I am lucky. There have been times that I needed a lighter and the Zippos would be dry from lack of use,
What do you guys (and gals) think? Buy a new one, quit carrying, invest in matches, carry some sticks to rub together?
Thanks

I don't smoke, but I also dont currently edc a lighter. I have been contemplating getting a bic like lighter to carry, but with how little I would use it, I don't know if it would be worth it.

edit: but I do carry a firesteel and a swiss-key(serrated blade part makes a good striker)

Used to carry a Thunderbird around, since it was styled like a Zippo, with a nice, soft, yellow flame, yet employed butane as its fuel source, so it wouldn't leak or often need refilling. When that broke, I carried around matches for a while, but realized that I rarely ever used them, so I stopped carrying.

I carry a lighter when it's winter time. Never know, might have the car die on the side of the road? I always carry a lighter or another fire staring tool when I'm fishing, camping or hiking.

I keep a lighter or two in my various packs and a lighter in every winter coat. But otherwise no its not part of my EDC gear so to speak.

I don't smoke, but still carry a plain jane Zippo. Its a nostalgia thing I guess.

I do smoke but I hope to quit soon. I carry a mini-Bic. Orange color for high vis. When I quit smoking I will probably continue to carry or at least keep one within arms reach (packs, car, etc.). Played golf with a guy yesterday who says he quit smoking years ago but I spotted a Bic in his golf bag.

i don't smoke but always have a lighter on me no matter what. you never know when they will come in handy for day to day tasks.

Picked up a Brunton last year - but I like the look on those Windmills - the bright coloured ones

I have an ancient brass zippo, which I love, but it isn't very reliable :(:D

...quit smoking a while ago, but still carry a few cigarettes and a lighter every day....holdover from my LE days I guess....offer someone a cigarette, strike up a conversation...great way to get information about whatever, with minimal cost/effort...you'd be amazed what information people will volunteer if you give 'em a smoke..

Cigars myself, but yeah, I usually have a lighter at hand (and a firesteel for that matter).

I just started carrying the peanut just in case Im in the mood for a black & tan, hehe.

I always have butane lighters on me or in my kit, also candles. I quit smoking years ago and, yes, I do know how to light fires with a bow drill, flint and steel, magnifying glsss, etc. However, why do that when I can simply 'click my bic?' In a SHTF situation, I'll contend with primitive fire starting methods only when my Bics run dry.
