Do you carry a multitool alongside a modern folder?

Ok thanks! The nut on my bike at least is between 12 and 16 mm so it should be fine. Thanks again for all your help!

I've had a Leatherman Juice S2 for 9 months or so and have carried it every single day whether I have a larger folder on me or not. Also recently picked up my first Alox Cadet and may carry it some.

Former pro and current hobbyist bike mechanic here. What sort of nut are you dealing with that is between 12 and 16mm? Only thing I can think of might be a very old style handlebar stem or old style seat post binder bolt. Both of these require torque levels that really exceed that which can be done with pliers, not to mention the damage to the face of the bolt the pliers creates.

I keep a small 4" adjustable wrench in the seat bag on all my bikes as a part of my standard road tool kit.

I love me my multi-tools but not for cycling. Cycling specific tools are definitely the way to go. Much lighter. Better for the bike.
