Do you display them, or keep them hidden?

I salute you guys but mine will stay in the bags because since 2006, we have had the trucks loaded and running four times as we waited for an evac call. The smoke was thick and the fire crews just a mile or two away.

Like Dickens' character Wemmick in "Great Expectations", I now appreciate "portable property". :D

I do have a little bag that has lots of knives, goodies and some sharpening stuff in it. I keep it handy and rotate favs into it so most of my knives are never neglected. If it thaws out a bit I'll snap a pic.

I totally understand you doing what you do... Simply you being prudent with that higher than normal risk of fire at your home. Glad you're prepared, my friend... and hope you'll never again have to go through the punishment dealt to a person by fire. Stay safe, buddy :)

Thanks for the kind words Jimmy!

With 7 granddaughters I minimize the opportunities for one of them to "discover" a knife. I keep all my knives but my current carry in a walk-in closet in my bedroom in knife rolls (out of sight out of mind) They know I have guns in there and to not enter with out one of their parents or me EVER.

I found this little Grizzly tool chest a while back. Works great for my knives and other little treasures.

I like that one! I have a thing for wooden boxes for some reason.

Just found this while looking up the one L.A. Posted

It's got my name written all over it.

99% of mine are in my Safes and I only have maybe 10 Knives that I rotate = very little rotation at that.*
Always have on one of my Gerber Belt Buckle Knives and a Delica ZDP189 plus my carry Pistol of the day I rotate it more than Knives.!**

I found a really good deal a while ago on a machinist's toolbox in Gerstner's International line. Even though it's made overseas, it's still oak and oak veneer over plywood, so it's pretty solid. It sits on top of my dresser and keeps all my knives, watches, pens, etc.

I keep 'em stowed. Don't need to show off, and not so keen to let everyone know how many nice toys I've got.
