Do you display your knives in your home?

I do not display them. Maybe a dozen or so laying around that I am farting around with the rest are in the safe.

I most definitely do not want to leave my knives out for Mr. Burglar to use as weapons against my family and I, so no.

I don't display any of mine out in the opening. The ones I use I keep in a dresser drawer (no thief would EVER think of looking there!) and the ones I rarely use are in my gun safe.

Well, if I'm home, the apartment is small enough they won't be getting anything before I get them, or my wife does; she has an axe. :)
And a machete I gave her.

Nope. I don't even "display" them here. I'm not a "looky what I have" guy at all. Kinda shy really.

Too easy to burgle them if they are out or on display in any way, especially if it's a multiple display. The exception is I do have a kukri on the wall but it's in a back room.

I keep them in display or storage boxes, but those stay in the vault until I pull out a new rotation set.

I have a display cabinet in my bedroom my grandad made many year before he passed. When I get my own house I'll continue displaying my dagger in that and have my sword probably hanging high on a wall but otherwise no because I use them too much to display

Out on display in cases. Alarm always armed. I want to be able to admire and handle them whenever I want. 😄

I don't keep any out on display for others to see, nor do I hide them.

If a burglar breaks into my house and robs me I would consider that a personal failure on my part. As in- my failure to properly secure my house and keep the bad people out. Fortunately for me I own my house and can install any security measures I want.

My girlfriend and I don't hide all of our flat screen tv's, dvd players, computers, cd players, tools, silverware, expensive leather jackets, etc, etc, either. Trying to hide our valuables would be like trying to hide everything we own.

And if we wanted to lock up all of our valuables every time we left the house we would need a vault the size of an entire room. And what a pain in the butt it would be to have to move everything into the vault every time we left, and then pull it all out every time we came home.

Instead of trying to hide and lock up all of our valuables, my girlfriend and I concentrate on preventing the bad guys from getting into our house in the first place ;).

If you are concerned about burglars, and if you don't have the ability to keep them out of your home, get insurance. Keep your receipts and take pictures of all of your valuables.

Also for the insurance it's a good idea to store a record of your valuables somewhere other than your home. Put the data on a dvd and leave it in your bank safe deposit box, or upload the pictures to a free dropbox account, etc.

I have a medium size mason jar full of vintage slipjoints on my mantle above the fireplace. There are other antiques up there as well, so the knives blend in. Not easily seen unless you go up close.

You're doing it wrong, replace them with a jar of colorful jarbenzas so they'll be the focal point of your decor!

Mine are more stored in the open. I have my non users hanging on magnet strips in my bedroom. I box the sheaths up. My users are in a small cabinet with drawers by my bedside.

"None" are out in the open "period" ..!!*** That is what I have 3 Safes for & ADT Alarm System & 2 German Shepards for
" 24/7 ~ 365 days a year "..!**** You are welcome to come by at anytime day or night though ~~ just plan on being
staying around awhile though.* lol

Most of mine are locked up in a tool chest drawer. I can pull the drawer out and display to friend or family if I want, but I never have. It hadn't occurred to me to.

Couldn't get them all in the pic.

That stuff is easily replaced. Try replacing a stolen knife collection that includes a large % of discontinued models along with custom knives.

I could buy a new tv in ten minutes. And it would cost less than replacing a single knife, some of them anyway.
I was burgled once from a cabin in Arkansas. It took, on average, one year per knife to find identical replacements. Twelve years for 12 knives...

No, my husband and I do not have any knives in a glass display case.

I do enjoy looking at pretty knives in nice display cases though!

:)

We have a knife in each room of the house though. Out in the open. I am not talking about kitchen knives now.

I only own a few knives. My extra knives and an extra 'hawk are in a drawer in a Stickley piece of furniture. That piece of furniture costs far MORE than my few knives.

My husband keeps his few extra knives locked up in a Sears tool chest.

We are not collectors. I am not knocking people who collect when I say this.
