Do you display your pocket knives?... How? :-)

Even a couple basic kabars and glock knives add a bit of something to the living room decor when placed in a display :-) The bottom one is a Browning knife... but Chinese made... my one and only china made knife. I loved it's look, but must admit that I did not feel right bringing home a chinese made knife. So, not going to repeat doing it again! :-)

Very impressive collection :-) And, organized nicely... maybe I am not the only one with the OCD round these parts! lol! ;-)

If I had a collection, I'd likely display it.
Since I have an amassment, I don't.

No...not until I buy some pants with transparent pockets :D
Seriously now...I think that displaying knives is mainly a collectors' thing, since a nice display isn't meant to pick items daily (not just for knives: I display my Champagne and wine glasses in a cristal closet, cause I use them on occasions - displaying the ones I use daily would be quite a hassle).
I'm no collector: I have few knives and keep them in a drawer, and I pick one every time I go out. That's just it :)

Yeah... it would definitely be more for the collector :-) I always carry my Buck Metro... and sometimes my SAK.. all the rest arejust bling that give me nolstalgic pleasures to look at them... and a pleasure to admire when giving them a wipe down... all good, in the end :-)

All of mine are laid out in a very specific order on top of my dresser. It's easy for me to grab and go that way. But there are usually a couple floating around the house, either on the coffee table or in the kitchen.

I feel the same way. I just keep my small group of users on a shelf in my closet ready for the picking.

I've made a similar statement before: I don't collect, I accumulate.

That is what I do as well. I accumulate my knives. If the few that I keep in the tube/box do not eventually get used, I will end up selling them. I would rather see them getting used by someone else or displayed in somebody's collection rather than sit in my closet.

I'm always on the lookout for that perfect traditional edc user, or the 'one' that has something special about it that rings true with me.

I also like the Chest box idea for storage.

I have two dishmats in two shelves that my knives rest in. Small endtable turned into a tv stand/knife storage. If someone is looking at my knives, it is me ;). I don't have any on display.

I find that my display of certain items in my living room, tend to make great conversation subject. Most are like.. "Wow... what is the deal with those things?".. and conversation begins :-)

I still deny that I collect knives. I'm simply amassing a few that I intend to use someday.

Almost all of my knives can be removed from their display in a matter of a few seconds, and I carry quite a few of them that are displayed. I actually find it easier to get at the ones displayed than the ones that aren't.
As you can see from this picture, most are held in place by elastic or just from being pinched between the glass and some foam, or they are just sitting there loosely.
One problem with displaying them is that you can see too many knives and it's sometimes hard to choose.

At the end of the day, the only person in my house likely to see my knives "on display" would be my Better Half, and I'd hate to confirm her suspicions about the extent of my collection....:D

Sorry for the derail, but who is the maker of that shadow wharny trapper?

I display/store mine on my bedside table, where they're easy to get at. The relatively small size of the box encourages me not to get too out of control with my accumulation.
