Do you display your pocket knives?... How? :-)

My wife is good enough to let me have most of one section of the china cabinet in the dining room, save a few serving plates,
to store my display and folding satchel cases.

Here are some of my display cases, opened up for viewing.

That was a big question I asked myself several times: How can I store/display my knives?

I found at a furnuture store for office needs some metal-cupboards with drawers to prevent from dust etc. I wanted to make them a fine display in my living room, but my Better Half wasn´t that happy with that solution. We don´t have so much space in our house. So I decided to get this option

Here are the drawers

Believe me - every drawer is filled with knives, stored at this way:

and other from inside

The quality is not the "Yellow of the egg" - but I think you get an idea how I store them.

I don't display mine yet. I want to eventually get either a grid style foam/glass top or a case without a grid and just the foam and glass top. Does anyone have a grid style case? Wondering how you like it? Thanks ~

At the end of the day, the only person in my house likely to see my knives "on display" would be my Better Half, and I'd hate to confirm her suspicions about the extent of my collection....:D
I hear ya! Not all of mine are on display at any given time.;)

I remember many years ago, a co-worker friend of mine made fun of my gun collecting practices, since I am quite anal about all I own. Well, one day I brought in one of my Marlin bolt action .22 rifles to shoot during lunch. He was there that day, and we did some shooting together. That's when he gained a lot of respect for my shooting abilities, my outshooting him in every single way. My words to him were something to the effect of "You see, I'm a collector... AND a shooter!" :-)

I don't display any knives, mostly because I only have users. I keep everything related to that in my man box, a 3 drawer Craftsman 26" tool box I got super cheap at a pawn shop. Top drawer is knives, razors, and the three watches that I have. Second is sharpening stones, water stones, and small tools for my knife making that are too valuable to keep in the barn/shop. Third is everything else. Portable ham radios, small metal aid box from WWII with mad money in it, spare batteries, stuff that I need that I can never find because no one in my family knows how to put things where they go (super glue, lighter, keys to the interior doors, etc.)

I have the plans for a Union machinist chest, but that project will wait until I have the money and the time to build it properly. Someday though.

Interesting to see some of your collections/accumulations/amassments. I guess I didn't really understand what being a knife nut was until now. I mean, I understood loving knives, but I never would have guessed someone would have so many nice, semi expensive knives in one place! I felt like a Russian in 1950 coming to the US; a little star struck, a little speechless, and a bit envious. Lol.

Keep those pictures coming. I makes my heart beat harder to see all the polished steel and bone gleaming in piles. :)

This, I think, is the secret to a good marriage. That, and the corollary, being able convincingly say, "oh, this knife (gun, watch, radio, etc)? I've had this for a long time."
