do you edc onther makers knife or a production knife? I use a fixed blade I have from Takach, I use it for outdoor things around my house. I carry a couple of Case traditionals at work but nothing fancy.

I couldn't find a thread like this here, but didn't really search too hard. If this is inappropriate for shoptalk please forgive me. I am just curious to know. Thanks

I use a case pocket knife. But I am looking for a knife on here when I find it I will use it every day.I dont like edc my knives I dont know why I just dont.

Unless I'm out of knives at the time or need a cheap one for fear of loss(I work overseas on a drill rig) Then I carry my own. Lets me know how they'll hold up and I like to try differant handle materials. Nothing like sweating 12 hours a day to see how stabilized handle material will hold up.

I'm with William, I work overseas in an Oilfield, and carry one of my 1st knives.
I can and do beat the hell out of it to see where improvement is necessary.

It's actually time to upgrade to a newer knife, since my methods and skillset have changed quite a bit since I made this one.

I carry a Buck 110T, it was a safety award from a drilling company I worked for. I think I would carry one of my own but I haven't got around to making myself an EDC yet.

I carry a small fixed blade on my belt at all times. It's a simple knife with a 3.5" cpm3v blade and a cordwrapped handle in a kydex sheath. It was the first knife I used 3v for and I wanted to see how it would hold up to abuse. It's been almost four years and the thing still looks great despite being used as a prybar and a screwdriver and any number of other things you're not supposed to use a knife for.

I also carry a small slipjoint that I still haven't finished in my front pocket.

Sometimes I have a Benchmade folder that I reground the blade on in my back pocket.

I've only made two and since the only one I have out of those (the other was for the christmas exchange) and it's WAY too big to be legal over here I'll say no. Having said that though I'm working on my third which will be small and pretty and if I can make my sheath according to my liking then I might carry it on my days off.

I carry the first slipjoint I ever made. However it doesn't have my stamp on it and I have a set of mammoth tooth scales sitting in the drawer. I think it might be time to attempt a multiblade folder for myself :)

I either carry a medium barlow, a double canoe made by Puma (I know but this is actually my favorite knife) or one of mine, they usually get sold. I will carry a new design for a bit to test it out. A lot of people know if I'm carrying one of mine it's probably for sale :p

I did forge out a nice 3" drop point EDC for me to carry, just have to find time to fit up guards and finish it.

I carry a production folder (usually a Kershaw) since I don't make folders yet, Either one of my fixed blades or one from another 'maker (rotation between Ray Smith, J. Neilson, and Gerry Drew for now), and my own Necker.

When I'm at work I carry a Spyderco Endura IV that I reground from a thick saber grind to a thin convex grind. When I'm not at work I edc one of several different fixed blades of my own making.

I carry two of my own knives. One is a 4" modified sheepsfoot fixed blade and the other is a 2.5" caper fixed blade (good for cleaning fingernails and around people who are not knife friendly) Both are made from CPM-M4.

I would EDC one of my own, if I would just design and make one (or several) for myself. That was one of the reasons I wanted to start making knives in the first place. Seems like it's more fun making them for other people though! :D -Matt-

I carry a Leatherman Charge Xt as my main use knife and the only folder I've ever made as a seldom used touch piece.

Even when I have another knife on me I'll automatically reach for the Leatherman first.

I always wanted to make myself one but never had time. I usually carry an A.G. Russel folder...
