Do you feel this way too?

While I was writing another of my TNT threads:rolleyes: :D , I thought this might make an interesting topic.

Who else out there is so attached to their knives as to feel as if something is missing if you are not in possession of your favorite folder?

I don't mean just leaving it at home for the day, but if you err and trade it off or sell it, do you feel a sense of loss until it is replaced?

I traded my Strider/Buck tanto for a Spydie Lum tanto in black T and G10 and I ended up getting a fully serrated AFCK for it. The Strider was a REAL knife and I still miss its bulk on my strong side.

I can't say that I have ever parted with something that I regretted. Often something new will catch my eye and force me to really assess the knives that I am carrying before I get rid of one by mistake. I always try to question not how much I want the new knife, but how much will I miss the old one. Does this make any sense?

Well, I don't sell or trade my knives, so that's not a problem. However, when my old (circa 1975) Buck 110 was stolen (f*****g scumbag! ), I had to replace it, even though I don't carry it anymore. Just didn't feel right not owning one.

Many, many years ago, I owned a Kershaw Trooper dagger that I wish I still owned! And then there was this Satin Al Mar Warrior...:).

A Onion and a Mad Dog ATAK that I regret letting slip out of my grips and deeply miss !

Have yet to fill the void ! :(

My first custom was a Dean bowie; I talked to Harvey at length about it and waited six months for it. Damn I hate that I sold that knife :( I get pissed at myself everytime I think about it - I really miss that knife.

I do feel "naked" without a knife on me.

Also, I am in mourning. Not only did I lose my Benchmade Sentinel not that long ago, but I seem to have misplaced my CRKT Companion. I still have hope of finding my Companion, but my Sentinel is....:( .... lost I am afraid

EDC is now my trusty AFCK, but it is sans clip. The screws on the clip were terrible, not of the same size, and the lock tite I added finally gave way. The clip needs screws and I have to wait a while before shipping the knife off to benchmade. I hate having to ship just for screws! Oh well. This is the first I have spoken of my lost knife. Mourn with me brothers and sisters. I waited for 1.5 years to get that knife.

That's true for me too. I had a SAK Soldiers model in my daypack when it was stolen! When my wife and I went to buy some replacement gear, I cried about losing that knife and that pack, I just wanted _them_ back! (And all my other stuff, too! It had a German Army pocket knife and a book and a pocket SW radio and my lunch and some money and my RenFest tickets! Those Bastards!!!)   While I have replaced most of it, I still miss the knife, altho since it was a Xmas gift from an ex-girlfriend, I think my wife is probably happier that I got a new model; no sentmental baggage with it.

Yeah, I really miss my BM 750. It's been MIA now for several months and I'm about to conclude it must have been stolen. It was my principal EDC - one hell of a knife! :(

I lost my Kershaw Avalanche last week :( And this happens less than a week after it gave me a nasty cut. Damn cut'n run knives.

Well, I see others know that feeling...Man Solid, you've had some bad luck lately! I feel for ya'.

Awhile back I sold off my large wood inlay Sebenza. I didn't have it long and I guess something else came along that I thought I liked better. The day I sent it off I felt really bad, almost sick. Well, this past Saturday I finally got another one. This one has dual thumbstuds and I love it :D Please, if you see me trying to trade or sell it, please smack me :D

I guess I should have checked out this thread before starting my thread on lost knives. I do have a few daily carries that are quite special to me, and when I tutor at this elementary school, I have to empty all my pockets, and I really feel naked without any knife at all:eek:

Camillus 154-CM EDC. It didn't really fit my hand that well, but it was a nice knife.
The thought of being without my small Sebenza is truly upsetting.
