Do you guys drink tea?

When we moved to our new community about 4 yrs ago I found a little Chinese retaurant that serves what's called Lychee Congou that they get from a tea company in a little town about 20 miles from here. The label says it's premium China black tea w/natural Lychee fruit flavor. Mmmmmmmm - very tasty. Actually tastes like it smells, which is a rarity for tea, Ive found.

I also rep an energy drink company that produces a very good green tea blend with a hint of raspberry in it. Couple cans a day for the anti-oxidant properties and weight management.

Also, a cup of Chamomile tea and a calcium tab before bed will help you sleep like a baby all night long.

I like most teas really, I buy celyon and green. In the summer I constantly drink stinging nettle tea as it grows abundently and is great for you. When I was in peru I drank quite a bit of coca tea as well, hard to find up here though, apparently coca cola imports somthing like 8 tonnes of coa leaves per year but they have some sort of special licence, I've only come across one place selling it here.

I've been drinking 2 quarts of green tea every day as part of my weight loss plan. It fills up my gullet and appears to be very healthful.

I live in Arizona. It get's really hot here. Hell we're supposed to be into the 90's this weekend! Summer is around the corner. I drink a lot of iced tea. When I'm home I always have a big mug full of ice and tea. My preference is for Luziana tea, makes great tasting iced tea. I have recently been buying and drinking Lipton's various green teas as I like to have a cup of hot tea in the evenings. With the temps getting higher though, I'll be sticking to the iced variety.

When I'm in a tea phase I drink mostly loose-leaf black (plain or flavored) tea with milk & sugar in the morning, green, white, or pu'erh tea in the afternoon, and herbal tea at night. I'm in a coffee phase right now but I'm sure I'll be back on the tea soon.

Japanese Green Tea, chamomille, orange pekoe, jasmine, orange spice...........;)

I stock up on gallon jugs of Arizona green tea. I like to try different teas hot, and Celestial Seasonings always has something I like. In the summer I make iced tea and add in about 1/3 juice which almost makes a light meal.

My Russian grandfather used to drink Swee-Touch-Nee, which we could steep until it was very dark. Later I learned that was "phonetic" for the Russian word 'tsvetochny' which means 'flowery' because it was flavored with jasmine. I drank that for years; it was a family habit. But I drink mostly green tea now, even Lipton's.

I don't know about tea quenching thirst better than coffee, except it probably has less caffeine, which will dehydrate you.

Yvsa: Orange Pekoe eh? Too bitter and metallic for my palate these days... dare I say brassy? ;-D

CS, didn't you see the TANG after the Orange Pekoe and the smilies?;) :p :D I couldn't begin to tell you what Orange Pekoe tasted like with maybe the exception of Lipton Tea as IIRC their regular tea is a mix of orange and black pekoe tea.

We do drink some teas that are more common to the ndn folks more so than anyone else. A mild Sweet Grass tea can be quite good and a real thirst quencher. Sage tea is bitter as all blazes and shouldn't be drank by anyone pregnant or apt to be as it can be an abortificant of sorts but there are a lot of natural teas that any folks trying them should be mighty careful with.
Most anything in a box is okay unless there's a warning on it.

Green tea iced and chevalia flavored teas, right now it's cherry.

I like a spritz of flavored water in my iced tea though, I don't use sugar so "Peach" sparkling water does a good job of waking the tea up.

i tend to keep a pitcher of sweet tea in the fridge, drink a couple of cups of coffee, sweet, white, when i get up, but then shift to hot black (with a sweetner, mebbe honey) tea during the day. prefer the sweet iced tea at meals or in hot weather tho, with lemon juice (peach works well too).
mint tea is cool too.

All the tea I drink comes from this big block of tea leaves that one of our relatives brought over for us. Just take a pinch, add hot water (or warm), leave it a bit, then drink. One block lasts a whole year, too.

I've drank the stuff on and off for a while, but have been doing so like crazy since Christmas when I recieved this little water heater thing. Just pour yer cup of water in top & hit the button; it will be boiling in like 20 seconds.

I dislike a number of flavored teas. I like complexity in my beverages, but my wife has about 6 kinds of that Celestial Seasons stuff around and they all taste like artificially flavored candy to me. Whereas I've had a few kinds from National Republic of Tea (LOVED their blackberry sage) that were complex enough to keep me interested.

I keep a patch of spearmint by my house, and annually harvest & dry a bundle of plants. I strip their leaves into antique mason jars for use in my tea, with one of those infuser ball thingies. Lots of my cheap "everyday" teas really benefit from that bit of mint for something different and interesting. I also grow lemon leaf (another member of the mint family) for that same reason.

I have that too :)

Marocan tea: Gunpowder tea, fresh mint and sugar. Perfect for summer time. It is an arabic tradition to drink hot tea when it's hot, and I don't think they were all crazy.

I discussed about that with a guy at the tea shop, one of our conclusion on why they did that was (we may be wrong) that hot liquid requires less energy to be absorbed by the body, so you are quenched with less energy, so you fell less hot. Makes sense?

Last summer I was in the backyard, with my Marocan tea, my shisha and a good book. It felt good.

I hope next summer I will be able to cut my mint with an HI blade :)

ARIZONA!!! That's made in New York!!!

I saw some Swee-Touch-Nee at Wally World last year. I wish I had bought it. They don't have it now.

I drink a couple of cups of coffee in the morning, then it's PG TIPS the rest of the day. If you like black tea, try to find some PG TIPS.

Arizona Green Tea in the afternoon and either Gen Mai Cha (green tea with popped corn inside) or Oolang at night.

Five Roses tea from South Africa.

Friend brought some back, saying it was the best he's ever tasted.

I concur.

Not sure if it is available in U.S. commercially.

green tea is kinda like water here. hell, im not sure it isnt coming out of the taps.
right now, they are drinking mugi-cha, which i do not like.
o cha is always about though. (green tea) but i have been told that green tea bleaches your intestines.
not sure what that means, but i think my guts could use some bleach.

Started drinking a variety of herbal teas when i quit smoking, down to three now Japanese Green tea,Red Bush tea,and Licorice zinger.Great for overall health and immune system and also helps to curb my coffee consumption which at one time was over 15 cups a day.

My favorite is Sassafras tea. My mother used to take me to gather it for tea when I was a kid. Still my favorite today - although I haven't had any in a while. Pine Needle tea is not for me.

I like Orange/green tea and pomengrate/green tea. I will drink Black tea during the day in the winter. In the summer, I will switch to more green teas.

I've always liked to drink sassafras tea. Supposed to help thin the blood after a long winter. Its becoming a lost art. Best to go out in the woods and dig fresh roots for brewing. Sweeten w/ sugar. Fine , fine, fine.
