  • Today marks the 24th anniversary of 9/11. I pray that this nation does not forget the loss of lives from this horrible event. Yesterday conservative commentator Charlie Kirk was murdered, and I worry about what is to come. Please love one another and your family in these trying times - Spark

Do you have any dealbreakers?

All of the old Schrade line is made in China most of Camillus , a lot of Gerber , Fiskars . 99% of rough rider knives are copies of traditional American pocket knives same with Marbles.
I have 8 years of experience in the auto industry, keeping the machines running that heat treat drive train parts. I have seen steel coming from China not be what it was supposed to be enough that I have no confidence in Chinese steel

Aren't 99% of American traditionals copies of Sheffield and German traditionals lol.

Clones. They are usually crappy copies and are stealing intellectual property. The Chinese are doing this way too much.

I have quite a few.

-Titanium frame locks without a steel insert.

-Assisted opening.

-Omega springs on Benchmades. (Not really a dealbreaker, but I’m done buying them until they switch to an Anthem style, if ever).

-Slipjoints without a half stop.

-3Cr, 5Cr, 7Cr and 8Cr are a no go

-$100+ liner locks.

-Polymer scales on anything above $70.

-Poor F&F (blade play and centering that can’t be adjusted out).

-Stainless steel scales.

Half serrated
Chinese blade steels (some exceptions)
Double edge
Non locking (except SAK)
Added "safety" levers or buttons
