Do you have any dealbreakers?

- Poor pocket clip placement (3.25"+ need to have tip down clips!)
- Non thumbstud opening
- Finger choils or giant sharpening choils
- Cheap feeling FRN scales
- Overpriced (Benchmade new releases for example...)
- Made in PRC
 
I don't buy from China either..... I will from Taiwan.
Lately I really am only buying US.
Mainly with all the economic problems. I really want to keep US citizens working.
 
Folders:

OTF,
Autos,
Black G10,
Ball bearings,
Made in China,
Teflon washers,
Compression lock,
Stock close to, or over 4 mm
Voided warranty if disassembled,
One-hand-opening is impossible / except traditionals /
Pinned construction - no way to disassemble / except traditionals /.
 
Well........ you can't blame a spouse when you can't go out for a gallon of milk without coming home with a new knife!
 
Well that's one of the two spouses... and another deal breaker issue for which I would say the same thing. ;)

In no particular order

1. Hot spots
2. Choils
3. Thumb studs
4. Counterfeits/Clones

Just off the top of my head
 
No goes for me are...
1. Made in China
2. Clip that can't be swapped for lefty carry
3. Tip down only carry
4. Partially serrated

That's about it for me.
 
Made in china- can't trust they are truthful

Stag, bone,etc. handles- just never cared for them

Guthooks and serrations are absolutely deal breakers Chinese made and most super steels are deal breakers 99% of the time
 
Makers, whether custom or production, who have a history of less than honorable behavior. Any deceptive practice.

Poor craftsmanship, heat treat...or failure to put a decent edge on what is supposed to be a knife. Don't make me do the work for you.

Useless, fantasy land and mall ninja designs that have no practical basis for being employed.

USA made, greatly preferred...but not a deal breaker. (Totalitarian countries need not apply.)
