Do You Hide Your Knife Purchases from your Spouse...& do you get away with it?

I occasionally buy a new knife or a new holster, or even a new gun! I just tell her so she’ll know what the various
charges are for. After all, she does handle paying the bills! Besides...she has 2 to 3 boxes arriving daily for her various purchases! I can sleep without guilt!

I am honest and upfront in all relationships in my life. That way there are no surprises. Next, ensure the household bills are paid and the family has what they need. Save up for the desired item in a responsible manner. Finally inform the wife of the purchase. At that point if there is a problem, it’s hers. She can pout all she wants to.

I wear them openly and if she asks , I did get a new knife but sold an old one to get it.

exactly what I do .!!! "the money will be back in the bank account within a week I promise!!"
"just need to sell that knife I bought last week. "

cant hide it when its attached to your body all day !!! and as others have said not good for relationship :)

Nope. My wife supports my choices I make with the money I earn. All the bills are paid, savings is healthy, and everything's taken care of. Hell, some of my nicest knives were gifts from her for anniversaries, birthdays, Christmas, etc. I'll never hide anything from my wife, though I HAVE often discussed with her if I was waffling on an expensive purchase. Sometimes she's like "That is amazing, you really should jump on that." Sometimes she'll point out that "Well, you already have two or three that look like that, seems to me you could get something different for the money" and she's usually right. She knows what my collection looks like and has her favorites.

Secret to life: marry a good woman, that way you don't have to skulk around hiding things from her. :)

And actually in fact, whenever I get a new knife in, and I'm still at work, I have her open the box and send me pics of the knife because she usually gets home before I do. Little dopamine hit before I get home. My wife's the best.

She doesn't tell me what to spend my money on and I don't tell here what to spend here money on. I'm not sure why either one of us would hide our spending habits from each other.

Reminds me of the I Love Lucy joke. Buy it, stick it in the closet immediately, take it out a few months later. "This? It's been in the closet for months!"
LOL! That's sort of what I do, I'll usually try to carry it discreetly, but eventually I'll get caught playing with it idly and then I will say I've had this knife for a while.

I don't hide my knife or other interests. I don't rub knife purchases in her face either as I know she simply isn't interested. She thinks ever knife I buy cost $400 or more.... Not really even close to reality. But I don't worry about it.
